Respect, Engagement, & Work Habits

Wheatland Middle School has high expectations for all students. We feel that student citizenship is a critical component.  Students who demonstrate excellent citizenship will come to class prepared, stay organized, turn in quality work, and meet all deadlines as given.  They will show respect to peers, staff, self, and the property of others.  Students at the excellent level will be engaged in their learning, will demonstrate initiative and positive leadership, and will work in teams or independently, as needed. Students are expected to demonstrate a positive attitude while at Wheatland Middle School.

  • The student champions discussions to resolve differences through active listening.
  • The student shows high regard for the property of the school, self, and others.

  • The student works exceptionally well  and initiates cooperation with peers and staff.
  • He/She is an active learner.
  • The student consistently has a positive attitude.
  • The student demonstrates a high level of self-control and self-discipline.
  • The student is fully aware of his/her actions and accepts responsibility.

  • The student demonstrates an independent, industrious work ethic.
  • The student consistently comes to class prepared to work without prompting (i.e. pencil, paper, book).
  • The student is well organized for class and class activities.
  • The student consistently demonstrates that he/she meets given deadlines.
  • The student’s work is consistently of high quality and conforms to standards set forth in class.
