CIP REVIEW

  • Testing Updates and Benchmark Data - see above; no additional Benchmark data to include
  • Attendance Rate - Goal 96%, we are on an upward trend, up by .7% from where we were at this time last year
  • Campus Climate Survey - Results

https://www.austinisd.org/dre/district-campus-surveys

Student Climate Survey and Tell Staff Climate Survey - please look over these for May meeting. (Student Climate Survey, Student Substance Use and Safety Survey, and Parent Climate survey are not current as of 4/9).

Click on Interactive Reports list at the top left to select the results you want to see. Change filters to see O. Henry data only.

Q: Which reports will we eventually look at? A: Parent, Student, and Staff Climate Surveys

Q: What will we do with that data? A: We will set goals, create programming and professional learning opportunities. This is also part of the district report card so we can look at communication and support for parents based on their perceptions. We look at student results for similar reasons. We are looking at the “whys”.

C: We get a lot of reports as parents, if you are not on CAC, you don’t get to hear results or understand what happens because of it. A: We can’t fix everything in one year, so we focus on 2-3.

Q: Should we take fewer, but more frequent surveys? A: May not be as helpful because we only choose a few to focus on anyway.

C: Surveys are also a snapshot of that day

  • School Data Dashboard - none available at this time

Other:

The AHS vertical team is only putting in for two District of Innovation Days because of the number that already exist and the Professional Learning Exchange Days (PLED).

Friday, Oct. 11 and Friday, Feb. 14th; both create 4 day weekends for students

*Asking for more days puts a strain on AHS because they have additional days and because elementary schools don’t add extra minutes; we could still have two snow days and not make up any of our time; Small put in for an extra day to match to their other feeder high school (we are not able to do that because our kids go to so many schools). Proposing not to add any extra days for O. Henry and stay aligned with AHS.

Q: Is it worth putting in a ½ day the Friday before ACL? A: We would have to decide half day or full day because of transportation.

Q: How are the buses affected if we have half day? Do they run into traffic? A: That is what transportation will decide. They make the final approval.

CAC approved requesting a half day DOI day on Friday, Oct. 4th.

CAC approved the original DOI days on Friday, Oct. 11th and Friday, Feb. 14th.
