February 12th, 2018

Officers present: President Jason, Vice President Jeff, Secretary Cassie, Director of Fundraising Jordenne, Director of Softball Katelyn, Treasurer Amy (arrived at 7:28)

Others present: Jaime Haugh, Ron Beaudry, Heather Clark

Meeting called to order at 7:05pm

Secretary’s Report from January was voted in.

Basketball Recap: K-2 program ending March 10th. 7-8 done this weekend, all travel teams have completed. 3-4 done March 10th. Jeff asked how much other towns practice. Seems like our teams are playing below our level. Jason thinks it may be related to how much gym time we are allowed to get. There have been issues with having scheduling enough time for gym space. Extensive discussion on changing leagues, adding practices, skills days, etc.

Baseball Update: 33 kids registered. Registration closes on March 16th, with rosters due to the league the following week. Talk about enforcing a deadline on implementing a late fee for parents that attempt to register after it’s closed. April 9th in Rye, Big Al’s coaching. For all coaches and all levels. Cost is $300 per league. Sending an email to last years coaches plus maybe all parents who would be interested in coaching

Softball Update: league meeting last night, Candia rejoined the league. League invoice will be coming this week. A pre season clinic is being put together by Seacoast United. It’s $125 per person. It will be meeting every Sunday, starting March 4th. League fees One coach looking for gym time for assessments, but was informed they will have to wait until after basketball was done. Ideally softball assessments done as soon as registrations close. So teams can be made up for the leagues. Tentatively scheduled for March 17th from 8am-4pm (for both baseball and softball).

Talk about an implementation of a late fee: $25 for any registrations after are registrations closed.

Jaime wanted to let us know that there is a rec field hockey, starting in late February through March, in the elementary school after school program (3:15-4:15pm, once a week). 3-4, 5-8 3 week clinic indoor. No fee. Scrimmages on Saturdays.

Holy Grail 5K: March 10th. Registrations about 50 people. Large Assembly permit is on the docket with the BOS for tonight. Need to help push the word out. Beach Plum reached out about donating some stuff for prizes.

Sponsorships are going well. First round of solicitations have already generated some interest.

Treasurer's Report: Computer went down, not exact information. Savings account has $11k and change. Every bill is paid and current. Approximate $9300 in the checking. Motion to table report until next month when the computer is up and running.

Open Discussion: Open discussion about putting the lawn maintenance out to bid. Ron works for a lawn care company, says the rates are comparable. So the treasurer will look into soliciting bids from other local lawn care companies. If not perhaps see if we can entertain a multi-year contract to lock in rates.

Meeting adjourned 8:52pm
