Notice of Race &
Sailing Instruction Amendments
Sat July 11, 2020
The Bermuda Triangle is hosted by the East End Mini Yacht Club (“Event Host” or “EEMYC”) on July 11, 2020 and uses the Standard Sailing Instructions of the RHADC at http://www.rhadc.bm/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Standard-SIs.pdf (“SSIs”) except as modified according to section 3 as follows:
Schedule. 11:00 (10:55 warning) for International Class.
11:15 (11:10 warning) for the BOCA Class
Start. the Start shall be between a yellow tetrahedron Southeast of EEMYC and the white channel beacon on Hen island.
Course Length. Course length will be adjusted to allow finishing between 3-4pm ADT
Course. After the start, the course shall proceed out of Town Cut and turn to the west to the turning “Mark T” which will be a yellow tetrahedron just off Hungry Bay.
All coral heads and land when seaward of Town Cut shall be left to starboard going out and port coming back from Mark T.
Finish. The finish shall use the same marks as the Start but crossing the line in the opposite direction.
Scoring. Big Boats will use ORC their single number rating on their certificate and BOCA Class will use PHRF.
Prizegiving and Social Event at EEMYC. Prizegiving and thanks along with food and drink will be at the club on Sunday July 12 from 1700 hrs.
Tracking App. We will be using a tracking app called Kwindoo. For racers please download your phone and take your phone with you. it will have thc course on it and may have additional instructions for racing. click on the right link for your iphone or android to get the tracking app. THEN you MUST register yourself and your boat to the app AND FINALLY search for the Bermuda Triangle Race Event and sign up in your class (BOCA for most). Then we will be able to see you and track you for people watching at home and to replay the race later if you want.
