Period: May 25 to July 25 incl. ------------------------------- Cash in Bank 30/4/25 = £ 9483.04 May payments made/ expenses: £ 1489.12 May receipts received/ income: £ 2015.58 June payments made/ expenses: £ 1897.21 June receipts received/ income: £ 2092.09 Cash in Bank 30/6/25 = £ 10204.38 --------------------------------------------------------- Cash in bank 28/7/25 1600hrs = £ 9638.13 . All outstanding receipted reimbursements fulfilled. "Bus Bank Instant" Acc balance stands at £ 102.66 on 28/7/25 Amount for Ringfencing for 125 Celebration funds agreed at AGM (2023) as £1500. BBQ expenditure of £199.24 identified as being from this fund. Liabilities of £888.00 are imminent with the planned approval of expenditure on rebranded Flags and podium background, which could be attributed to the PNE125 pot Main transactions have been MBC Summer race series business, 'Circles' business and membership fee income. We are now into Quarter 4 and actual values have been completed in the PNE Annual Budget document up to end of Qtr 3. The mysterious transaction from 11/3/25, debiting £4.25 as "Service charges Ref 449158579" as a debit card transaction, was queried with Lloyds and found to be a monthly bank charge for the type of account, introduced after they had automatically transitioned it into a "Community Account". This will of course be ongoing whilst we use this type of account. The club were apparently notified of the changes last October, but I have no recollection of such notice. As agreed at the AGM 2024, reimbursements to members for club business expenditure, where a direct payment is not possible, or a personal charge card is required, will be detailed at each committee meeting. Please see table below for the reimbursements in this committee period. Note: Each committee member is authorised to spend up to a maximum of £300 on the club's behalf. Any expenditure larger than £300 needs to be pre-authorised at committee prior to being undertaken. No pre-authorisation requests have been received for our upcoming months. Road - Tim Lawn/Ken Houlberg |
Lots of racing in the last few months. Highlights include Matt and Gareth receiving promotion to Cat 2 with Steve Nics one win away from the same. Downsides are that early season enthusiasm from new/promoted racers seems to have worn off leaving only the ‘regulars’ attending |
Time trial - David Knight |
All going ok on the time trial. Numbers are slightly up on last year as a result of combining with FWCC. There is a more fun atmosphere at the HQ at the end of the event now are a result of more numbers. The Strip payment system was requesting evidence of our company house reference number, which we do not need as a sports club. However, i can't be bothered to go through explaining that all again (like i had to with Paypal during Covid) so i have just stopped taking online payments from our own website. i'm looking into phasing out our website as the CTT website now includes club events. I will look into this in the future. There are two events left in the league: Thursday 7th August P929-9, Thursday 21st August Hill climb Numbers from other clubs attending our open event were disappointing. I am not going to run the open next year. If another club member wishes to take that on then i will be happy to handover, i will continue with the club events next year. |
CX & Track - Tim Lawn |
CX Season begins in September. Provisional calendar has been released recently on Wessex CX website. Rider Registration is open accessible from website. New season Newsletter imminent Southern XC mountain bike series has already concluded, with 2026 preparations already underway. #CrossisComing |
Captain - Bob Beeching |
We have had 3 new Ride leaders step up recently, Rachel Scandling, Phil Nobbs and Roy Matthews which is great news. We still struggle funnily enough with getting Social ride leaders which is awkward when trying to get Come and Try’s along. We are still getting a lot of requests for Come and Trys and this has led to a steady increase in joiners over the recent months. There was one serious incident on a club Wednesday ride recently which resulted in one of our members ending up in Hospital with some serious injuries. Ride leaders need to be reminded about ensuring that everyone is equipped for a ride especially when dealing with Minor’s. A recent ride saw a minor “bonking” and his guardian wasn’t with him at the time. The guardian has been spoken to about his role in ensuring the safety of those under his responsibility. We now have a gravel splinter group and the first ride took place on the 27th. 39 at circles recently, record attendance.

Summer BBQ Success! Our summer BBQ was a fantastic success, bringing together around 40 clubmates, family, and friends for an afternoon of great food, good company, and glorious sunshine – we truly couldn’t have asked for better weather! A huge thank you goes out to everyone who made the day so special. Events like these wouldn’t be possible without our amazing volunteers:
It was a real team effort and a brilliant reflection of the friendly, supportive spirit of our club. Thank you to everyone who came along Figures:
Next Social event is Annual Prize Giving on Saturday 15th November Attendance was 50 people last year so we will be budgeting for the same number this year Hall is booked and to be paid Catering enquiries have been made (there will not be curry on the menu this year) Trophies will be recalled in September to allow for time to get back conduct any repairs and place order for engraving. Medals/keyrings will also be ordered at this time Volunteers to help with venue set up, raffle prize donations will all be gratefully received to help make the event a success.
