Mary Grill, Manheim Township
Oct 3, 2024

On the ballot for the state House seat for the 96th Legislative District, there is a name familiar to the citizens of Manheim Township: Nikki Rivera.

Nikki has been on the Manheim Township school board since 2016, initially appointed to fill a vacancy and then reelected twice. She has been a force for decency and common sense. As school board president, her leadership has been calm, welcoming and well-informed.

We are all being barraged 24/7 with political ads right now, particularly for statewide and national races. Remember the adage “all politics are local”? That being said, the closest we get to having a direct voice in Pennsylvania is with our state representative. Vote for a candidate who has demonstrated her thoughtful voice. Vote for Nikki Rivera.

Register to vote by Oct. 21, request a mail-in ballot by Oct. 29, return the mail-in ballot by 8 p.m. Nov. 5 (not just postmarked by then but actually in the Lancaster County Lancaster County Voter Registration & Elections Office).

If not using a mail-in ballot, show up between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, at your polling place and make your voice heard.
