VICE PRESIDENT, STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS (Treasurer), Trustee Position
This role is the chief financial officer of the association. Responsibilities include:
- Assume presidential responsibilities in the event the President and Executive Vice President are unable to perform them
- Maintain all funds and securities of the association using proper accounting methods
- Secure cash for events, manage invoicing, deposit association money, disburse funds for expenses and reimbursements, and provide receipts as needed
- Prepare monthly Financial Reports and present to the Board of Trustees
- Assist in the preparation of association and committee budgets to be submitted for review at the first Board of Trustees meeting
- Monitor the income and expenditures to ensure operations do not exceed the budget and notify the Board of Trustees immediately upon a budget overrun
- Keep all legal information of the organization up to date, including filing taxes
- Identify potential grants for the organization
- Complete sponsors’ fulfillment including collecting payment from sponsors, managing events, etc.
- Oversee any programming related to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
- Oversee the Director of Community Engagement and assist in developing a community engagement strategy
- Attend all strategic partnerships team, executive team and board meetings
- Full voting member of the Board of Trustees
Term:
- One-year, re-electable with no limit
- After term, obligated to serve on the Board of Trustees for an additional 2 years
Requirements: An executive presence and desire and ability to coach team members. Prior leadership experience and finance/accounting experience preferred.
Succession Planning Requirement: The Treasurer must identify a suitable potential successor to their role three months prior to the end of their term, to be formally vetted by the President and Board of Trustees.
