Floor Loom Weaving

*Rentals: $20 per month for personal loom space. The looms would be available for use while the Center is open. This includes no class time.

*Rental of a Holly Spring Loom for $30 per month. At the end of the month if there is no one interested in renting then the same person may rent it another month, otherwise, the loom will be stripped out and released to the next renter.

Using Wisteria, Kudzu and other vines no one wants, you will learn which ones split, how to gather, store, weave and so much more.

Winter Snowman

Winter Snowman Taught by Dale Cleaveland. 10:00AM - 2:00PM. Tuition is $40 plus $20 for supplies paid to the instructor.  Decorate your window with a bit of winter by creating a stained glass snowman. This is a beginner level stained glass class using the Tiffany method. No previous glass cutting experience necessary. Students will learn about the various types of glass, the basic tools used, how to cut glass to a pattern, how to foil glass, and how to assemble/solder the pieces together. All necessary tools and materials will be provided for students to create a stained glass snowman to hang in their window. Recommend close-toed shoes. Minimum age 12. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Beginner Soap Making

Taught by Jennifer Bridges. 10:00Am-12:00PM. Tuition is $20.00 plus $20 for supplies(paid directly to the instructor). Each student will make a small batch of soap to take home. Supplies will include ingredients for this batch of soap, Safety wear (gloves, mask, and reusable goggles), and reusable mold.

Stained Glass- Christmas Ornament

Taught by Dale Cleaveland. 10:00AM-12:00PM. Tuition is $20 plus $20 for supplies (paid to the instructor) Stained Glass Christmas Ornament Class: No glass cutting experience necessary! Classes will be set up so that experienced students can work with “raw” glass and less experienced students can use pre-cut pieces to make their ornaments. Class will begin with a safety orientation and a glass cutting demonstration. Students will then cut (or use pre-cut) glass, foil, assemble, and solder their ornaments. Everyone should be able to make a minimum of three ornaments. There will be 5 or 6 designs to choose from.

Beginner Silk Painting- Christmas Color Ombré

Taught By Lisa Womack. 10-12 Tuition is $20 plus $15 for supplies paid to the instructor. Students may create more than one scarf as time and supplies allow. Each additional scarf will be $15 for supplies paid to the instructor. Students will learn a ombré technique to create a soft transition between different colors. We will learn about different types of silk and some history of this art form. Along with the required supplies, I will provide several colors of silk dye. At the end of the class, the scarves will be labeled with your name and address. Each scarf will be steamed to set the colors at my home studio. Then, the scarves will be shipped to your address within a week. This is a beginner class. Future classes will explore different techniques.

Beginner Silk Painting- Dropper Marbling

Taught By Lisa Womack. 10-12 Tuition is $20 plus $15 for supplies paid to the instructor. Students may create more than one scarf as time and supplies allow. Each additional scarf will be $15 for supplies paid to the instructor. Students will be learning the technique of dropping silk dye color onto the silk in order to form free flow patterns of color. This is alway a fun technique! We will learn about different types of silk and some history of this art form. Along with the required supplies, I will provide several colors of silk dye. Class is appropriate for absolute beginners. You will learn 5 basic stitches and how to read a simple pattern. We will discuss different types of hooks and other useful tools for those just beginning their adventure with fiber arts. You will go home with a reference sheet that will include detailed descriptions of what we cover in class. As this is a beginner class, future classes will explore different techniques. On-going support will be provided beyond the class to ensure success with your first project.

Students will be introduced to the honeybee and the role of each bee in the hive is responsible for, the components of the beehive and equipment that the beekeeper will need to manage the hives. We will also talk about how the beginner beekeeper can get their first hive of bees (packages or nukes). Included in our discussion will be general costs associated with beekeeping.
