Polymer Clay

Taught by Dr. Joan Cassidy-Huck. 10:00AM-12:00PM. Tuition is $20 plus $10 for supplies paid to the instructor. This class is geared towards the beginner to intermediate working with polymer clay. You will be able to choose from a variety of ready-made canes and veneers to make your choice of beads, bracelets, earrings, pendants and/or miniature bowls. In addition, you may use a variety of additional materials such as alcohol inks, acrylic paints, mica powders, foils, pan pastels, texture plates, cutters and other findings. You should be able to make at least 3-4 items during the class. If you have any polymer clay tools, texture sheets, shapes, etc., feel free to bring them.

Beginner Quilting

Taught by Dr. Loey Krause. 10:00AM-1:00PM. Tuition is $30 plus $10 for supplies paid to the instructor. Students will learn basic piecework quilting skills including, planning, piecing,batting, backing and binding. Limit to 10 students.

Keys to Color Painting

Taught by Terry Norris.  10-2:00 PM. Tuition is $40. $5 for supplies to be paid to instructor.  Learn to mix color and improve your color perception. These workshops are good for brand new beginners and the more experienced painter. Students learn how to accurately represent what they see.  Although the course is done in oils, the concepts are applicable to any 2D art media. Each class will offer a different variety of material. Take one or take all.  All Materials are included in the supply fee. Limited to 6 students; open to students 13 years and over.  Bring lunch.

Taught by Vaunda Browning. 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM. Tuition is $20 plus $10 for supplies paid to the instructor. Students will be making a small abstract mosaic using pre-cut stained glass pieces. Limit of 12 students.

Pottery- Container Garden

Taught by Lou Peden & Jane Moss. 10:00AM-2:00PM. Tuition is $40 plus $20 for supplies paid to the instructor. Students will learn large scale coil building to create a large container garden. Students can make accessories if time permits. Pick up/plant day is March 23rd 10:00AM-12:00PM

Beginner Soap Making

Taught by Jennifer Bridges from 10:00 AM to 12:00PM. Tuition is $20.00 with an additional $30.00 for supplies (paid directly to the instructor). Each student will make a small batch of soap to take home. Supplies will include ingredients for this batch of soap, Safety wear( gloves, mask, and reusable goggles), and reusable mold. The max capacity for this class is 5 students.

Coffee Scoop Carving

Taught by Ron Wilson. 9:00AM-1:00PM. Tuition is $40 plus $10.00 for supplies. Students will learn to carve one long and one short handled scoop using a hook and sloyd knife. Limit of 8 students. Bring a snack.

Mixed Media Gourd

Taught by Debbie Wilson. 10:00AM-2:00PM. Tuition is $40 plus $20 for supplies paid to the instructor.  Students will learn how to make stamps, use permanent inks and markers and coil with round reed  that ends with a downward spiral. Limit of 12.

Taught by Lou Peden & Jane Moss. Tuition is $30 plus $20 for supplies paid to the instructor. Students will learn to make a Hypertufa Planter using found objects. Students can bring their own container or some will be provided.

Leather Jewelry

Taught by Dr. Joan Cassidy-Huck. 10:00AM-12:00PM. Tuition is $20 plus $10 for supplies paid to the instructor. Learn how to create stunning bracelets, earrings, necklaces and pendants with leather (cowhide, pigskin, snakeskin, crocodile, etc.). In this class you will learn how to use vegetan leather that you can paint or stain and chrome leather that is patterned and/or colored in a variety of gorgeous colors and patterns. You will also learn how to incorporate a variety of multi-media elements such as: micro hardware, studs, plain and jewel snap rivets, clasps, buckles and a wide assortment of found objects. In addition, you will learn how to either cut various shapes out by hand or with a Sizzix machine that uses different magnetic dies.  You should be able to make at least 3-4 items during the class. Additional materials and findings may be purchased for a nominal fee.

Beginner Music Reading

Taught by Carla Padgett. 10:00AM-11:00AM. Tuition is $40 plus $15 for supplies paid to the instructor. Students will learn basic musical concepts, including Bass and Treble Clefs, Dynamic markings, Basic sightsinging and Intervals and more. Great for Church Choir members, complete beginners or anyone who wants to brush up on their music reading skills.

Taught by Carla Padgett. 11:00AM-12:00PM. Tuition is $40 plus 20 for supplies paid to the instructor.  Class for beginners who want a Basic start in learning how to play the Piano. Students will need to bring their own keyboard for the class.

Suminagashi - Japanese Ink Marbling

Taught by Christina Laurel. 10:00AM-1:00PM. Tuition is $30 plus $10 for supplies paid to the instructor. Demonstrations and hands-on exploration. Participants leave with a mat that is decorated with their Suminagashi.

Bring an apron as inks can stain (vinyl gloves provided). Limited to 4 students; open to students 16 and older.

Wooden Coffee Scoop Carving

Taught by Ron Wilson. 9:00AM-1:00PM. Tuition is $40 plus $10 for supplies paid to the instructor. Students will learn to carve 2 different wooden Coffee Scoop with Sloyd knife, hook knife, and carving gouge. Bring snack. Open to all skill levels.

Beginner Chair Weaving

Taught  by Dave Lindsay. 10:00AM-3:00Pm. Tuition is $50 plus $20 for supplies paid to the instructor. Chair weaving with flat reed in a herringbone design. If you have a chair you can bring it or chairs will be available to purchase for an additional $10. Student will learn to weave chair bottoms. Bring a bagged lunch Limit of 6 students.
