  1. Looking at logistics for a possible event
  2. Ideas on how to promote an event
  3. Wants input on if this is feasible for the IESC
  1. Depends on the size of the event, but there is some interest, maybe a smaller event will be more feasible
  2. This would be an art work event for the resiliency room to promote it
  3. Looking into ordering take home kits
  1. Hate bias incidents in housing
  1. Strategies, what we can do
  1. Should we address these as IESC or leave it to housing?
  2. Housing has a committee just for this and they are finding ways to immediately respond to these situations
  3. Vandalism is a problem in housing looking at ways to protect bulletin boards and such

  1. Schedule a meeting with International Student Organization
  1. Do we have availability on Friday at 3:15?
  1. Some members of the IESC have availability,
  2. They are still looking for help and ideas to raise awareness on the Russia and Ukraine issue
  3. They want IESC input on how to fundraise and such

  1. Meeting with Evan Oglevie later this week to finish “JEDI” training for housing all-staff meeting next week on 3/16
  1. Any volunteers? If so, let me know. The theme is PJ’s and star wars for the training. I can meet this weekend to go over specifics.

  3. Do you need help from IESC on this Angel?
  1. He says yes if anyone is available he is finalizing plans for this in the next few days
  1. Nepali Night 2022 at Jordan Ballroom, Student Union Building, BSU on 12th March 2022 at 5pm
  1. Sharing the Nepali culture and food among all the people. There will be cultural dance and music shows with authentic Nepali food. The entry is free for every student and faculty including families
  2. The Nepalese Student Association reached out to OELA to help promote this event
  1. Farmworker Appreciation Day March 31, 2022
  1. 3-6pm Student Equity Lounge
  2. In discussion on a big event with the library and student equity center
  3. OELA is meeting today and tomorrow to discuss how they want to contribute to this week potentially events, more to come
  4. Have you reached out to MEPA?
  1. They are already putting an event on themselves for this week

  1. Meeting with the Gender Equity Center, the Pride Alliance, the Trans Alliance, and the COBE closet next Wednesday
  1. Will not be at next week’s meeting
  2. Talking about how they set up the closet
  3. Talked about how they located space, acquired clothing, ensured that the clothing is clean, etc.
  4. Brainstorm the different ways that the closet can be more inclsive and welcoming to people who do not identify as cisgender or want to present in a way that deviates from traditional gender roles

  1. The Ethics Committee has been pretty busy so I will be spending more time on ethics issues over the next few weeks

  1. Believe Broncos w/ Caitlin Lanier Conversation
  1. Extremely insightful conversation about how we can add healing to the Complaint/Title IX Process
  2. There is a lot of stress and trauma associated with this process and that needs to be taken into consideration in this process
  3. Maybe a collection of stories from individuals that have gone through the same thing not only those on campus, but anyone that has gone through it, that they could share and help people going through similar things now
  1. Sexual Assault Awareness Week with Greek Life
  1. Met with Panhellnelic and IFC presidents and learned about what they are planning to do for sexual assault awareness week and how we can help
  2. Denim day- visual representation on the quad
  3. IFC- the message that sexual assault can happen to anyone that includes males, this is not a gendered issue
  4. Looking into how IESC and Believe Broncos can add to this week
  1. RHA Drag Show
  1. Talked to RHA about safety measures being taken and directed them to speak with students in the LGBTQ+ community about it

  1. Open Conversation for ASBSU assembly and senate members
  1. Introductions for those joining us today
  2. Let Grace know if you have anyone interested in DEI initiatives
  3. How is the IESC taking action, and what do you want from the new ASBSU team, how can they help?
  1. Grace would like to see the future ASBSU administration to go to the events and meetings of the diverse student organizations on campus
  2. Active listening from ASBSU is a very important skill especially for the underrepresented populations
  3. Meetings are always open to anyone, feel free to come if you want to learn more or have any questions
  4. IESC is very important to be in tandem with as ASBSU
  5. This group should not just be checked in with they should work together and take action and support each other
  6. The goal is build community and foster growth and change
  7. She described the resiliency room initiatives for those that joined our meeting from other parts of ASBSU today
  1. How does IESC operate?
  1. They had a vision board and were originally seeking opportunities, but recently things have come to them from all kinds of student organizations who want help and they try to take on as many initiatives as they can

  1. Reminder: Volunteer tomorrow and Friday for ARC at the Refashion Event
  1. Need about two people and grace can send the info out
  2. There will be speakers and a fashion show and workshops during this event
  1. Writing for Change Journal Prompt/Submissions Open: Teaching and Learning - How and what have you learned during the strange space of the pandemic?
  1. Anyone who likes writing or is interested the link is on their instagram for submissions
  1. Ethics officer application is open, and we are looking for an outgoing IESC member to serve on the hiring committee
  1. It is a 5-6 hour requirement need a representative if there is one by March 18th when the application closes
