The Recreation Facilities Institute Committee ensures that the Institute delivers relevant, timely, and useful information on the development and management of recreation facilities to the profession.

NIRSA’s mission, vision, and strategic values guide the “how” and “why” for our professional development offerings, networking opportunities, and resources, as well as all strategic priorities.  NIRSA committees are expected to fulfill their charges, operate the committee, and make decisions and recommendations consistent with NIRSA’s values and in support of NIRSA’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities.

Event Committee Structure

The institute committee is comprised of NIRSA member volunteers who are charged to assemble content for the institute and any preconference events. Committee members are expected to attend the event.

2019-2020 Charges

  1. The committee is responsible for identifying topic areas, developing an event theme, and recruiting, reviewing, and selecting educational content.
  2. Committee members also assist on-site at the institute, duties may include attendee check-in, working with speakers, organizing volunteers, and assisting with transportation to offsite events.  

Additional charges may be presented to the committee, or by the committee, during the year as new initiatives arise.
