 Dear Parent / Carer

It is hard to believe that we are already into October.  It has been wonderful to see our new reception children settle so quickly into school and make lots of new friends.

The week ahead
It will be a very busy week in school next week.  Key dates for your diary are:

KS2 Harvest Festival at St Mary & St Cuthbert’s Church (10am) - family members invited

Thursday 9th October

EYFS & KS1 Harvest assembly (Y2 parents invited) - 9am in school

Friday 10th October

Rainbow library visit

Donations of tins and store cupboard ingredients are being collected in aid of The People’s Kitchen in Newcastle and Durham Christian Partnership.  Please can you send any donations to school by Friday in preparation for collection by the two charities.

Accelerated Reader
Each month we hold an Accelerated Reader competition for those children who have moved onto the Accelerated Reader scheme.  A huge well done to September’s winners:

Democracy was also in action this week as Y6 children set out the reasons why they felt they should be elected as House & VIce Captain.  All pupils in Y1-Y6 went to the ballot box to cast their vote and the results counted and verified.   We are delighted to announce the following House and Vice-Captains:
