Welcome to Homecoming 2017! We are excited to share with you all of the happenings of this year’s WOHS Spirit Week! Please feel free to spread Panther PRIDE throughout the district during this week of festivities.
The WOHS Spirit Week is traditionally a week of unity, collaboration, and excitement here at the WO High School Campus. In the pages that follow, you will find a list of the activities that help make this week so special. WOHS Homecoming DRESS UP DAYS
Monday 10/2 – Pajama Day!
P.J.s or lounging around wear! Consider wearing long winter-type sleepers, full length night gowns, robes, slippers, and other appropriate sleep wear. Don’t forget your Teddy Bear!
Tuesday 10/3 – Color Block Day!
Dress in all one color
Examples: Blue Man, Groutfit (Keep it appropriate!)
Wednesday 10/4 – Disney Day!
Wear your favorite Disney themed or character attire!
Thursday 10/5 – HoliDay!
Dress as your class theme:
Friday 10/6 – Panther Pride Day (Black & White Day)
*First hour teachers will be reminded daily to enter their tallies in the Spirit Week Google Doc before lunch.
Dress up days -- Points for each day:
1st Place – 300 pts. 2nd Place - 150 pts.
3rd Place – 75 pts. 4th Place – 50 pts.
(Points will be awarded based on percentage of the total class dressed in spirit week attire!)

>>Sign up for lunch time activities at Receptionist desk of the building where the activity is being held. Activity will be held during both A and B lunches in the given building only.
> Monday 10/2 – Oversized pj pants relay at North
(2 students per grade and lunch needed).
> Tuesday 10/3 – Jello eating contest at South
(1 student per grade and lunch needed).
> Wednesday 10/4 – Disney trivia at North (1 student per grade and lunch needed).
> Thursday 10/5 – Holiday scavenger hunt at North (1 student per grade and lunch needed).
> Friday 10/6 – Belly Flop Contest (South Pool)
2 students from each class will compete in a belly flop contest in the South Pool (1 student per grader per lunch).
Lunch Activities each day per lunch hour:
1st Place – 300 pts, 2nd Place – 150 pts,
3rd Place – 75 pts, 4th Place – 50 pts.
*Each class will create a banner for their class displaying school spirit.
*Interested participants should see their class advisers.

It is the responsibility of each class to have a planned mock rock consisting of 5 minutes. Administrators will screen class entries for the mock rock on Wednesday, Oct. 4th in the North Building Cafeteria after school. You must provide the CD to which your act will perform for approval.
Freshmen = Winter Holidays; Sophomores = Grandparents day;
Juniors = Valentine’s day; Seniors = Halloween;

The annual Homecoming assembly will take place on Friday, October 6th. A special schedule will be provided for that day, with the assembly beginning at approximately 1:30PM. Activities such as Mock Rock, Relay Races, Staff Mock Rock, Fall Athletics and Homecoming Court introductions will take place.

Come out and support our Football team, Cheerleaders and Marching Band as the Panthers take on the Rockford Rams! The Homecoming Court will be recognized at half-time and the winning class of Spirit Week will be announced during the 3rd Quarter of the game.

The Homecoming Court will be presented and recognized at both the Pep Assembly, Friday afternoon, and at halftime of the Homecoming Football game. The King and Queen of Homecoming will be announced at that time as well. On Friday, Oct. 6th, the court will be invited to a court breakfast in the LGI room (A117) of the North HS during 1st hour. Court members will be excused, but are responsible for informing their teachers and making up missed work.

The semi-formal Homecoming dance will take place the evening of Saturday, October 7th @ the NORTH HS. The dance will begin promptly at 7 PM and will go until 10 PM. Tickets will be on sale during all lunch periods from Monday 10/2 thru Friday, Oct. 6th.
The cost is $12.00 per person.
No tickets sold at the door. Seniors and Juniors (ONLY) will be allowed to bring outside guests and will need to obtain a guest pass in advance in order to do so. (Guest passes will be available beginning Monday of Homecoming week). Administration will be enforcing wrist bands for inappropriate behavior at the dance, please refer to the Student Handbook with questions.
**Inappropriate attire and inappropriate dancing will not be permitted.
Parent Note: All “rides” must pick up students no later than 10:15pm at the North High School.
