National Employee Appreciation Day is an opportunity for employers to show gratitude and admiration for the employees behind businesses and organizations.
Observed annually on the first Friday of March, Employee Appreciation Day is an essential reminder for employers that caring for and supporting employees and work staff only betters the organization from the inside and out.
It is encouraged that employers reserve time ahead of the observance to meet with an HR professional or other work colleague to ensure that you craft a message (and potential resources) that best communicates the value and appreciation your organization has for your employees.
This is a communication guide for HR to connect and share resources with their organization to facilitate positive workplace culture and change by celebrating and acknowledging holidays, cultures, and current event observances.
NOTE: This copy was drafted in the context and voice of The Rise Journey, and therefore, we suggest that you revise the text, particularly the purple italicized text, to best fit the mission, values, and language of your own company or organization. |
We recommend reviewing your message draft, at minimum, with one another team member who is informed on the topic. If you have a DEI committee or ERG that relates directly to the topic of the email, they should also be brought into the creation of any related communications.
EMAIL SUBJECT LINE: Today is National Employee Appreciation Day - Thank you for being a part of our team!
BODY: Hello [ORGANIZATION NAME] team,
Happy National Employee Appreciation Day!
Our team at [ORGANIZATION NAME] continues to grow and evolve as an organization because of the individuals behind our workplace and team.
Working with a team is not easy (especially in the workplace)! It often takes practice, collaboration, communication, and often stepping outside of the comfort zones. What our team and organization have been able to achieve together is invaluable and thanks to you folks - working behind the scenes to make our goals reachable, our organization adaptable, and our workplace a positive space to work.
Thank you for the work that you do and the time and energy you share with our workplace!

Cheers to celebrating Employee appreciation today and beyond!
