A human hears a sound in their room, they look high and low but can’t find it. They heard it again and saw a small creature, curious they asked “What are you, little creature?”

The creature spoke: “I am a Black Shrew, smallest of it’s kind and the last.”

“What happened to your home?”, the human asked. “There’s a monster in my forest, it destroyed all the trees and took away my friends and family.”    

“There’s a monster in my forest and I don’t know what to do”

1. The human “I’m sorry little creature, I cannot change fate but I can spread your story, so that there won’t be a creature to face the same fate as you.”
2. The human hug the creature, not knowing what to say

I hear the rattling of its feet

It’s coming from the bookshelf

Curious, I looked

It’s a small mouse with a long snout

Curious, I asked

Why were you in my room?

The mouse answered

I am a black shrew

I am the last of my kind

I lost my family because the forest wasn’t safe

I came here to look for shelter

I asked the black shrew - Why is the forest not safe?

The black shrew answered

There’s a monster in the forest

It’s big and not friendly

It destroys all the trees

For your food and plantation

There’s a monster in the forest

It took away my home

It took away my shelter

There’s monster in the forest

It’s big and not friendly

It is being built for palm oil

So I thought it’s safe here with you

Oh small black shrew (creature) in my room

I now know why you’re here

I’ll share your story

So others would know

I’ll fight to save your home along with many others

Oh small creature in my room

I’m sorry

I couldn’t fight for your kind

But I’ll make sure others wouldn’t face the same fate

So others have the chance to fight
