‘Preparing each child for their future in an ever-changing world’

Please remember to look at the Class Pages for topic webs and class letters

NEWSLETTER 14                                                                                        23rd April 2019

Dear families

Welcome back!  I hope you all had a lovely Easter and enjoyed the much appreciated sunshine!  I can’t believe it is already the start of the summer term!  The children have come back rested, refreshed and have already made a hardworking start to the term.  This is a very short term but has so much packed in - residential trips for years 4 and 6, SATs for years 2 and 6, and another Bank Holiday!

Topic webs and class letters for this term will be available on the Class Pages website by the end of this week with information you will need for this term.

Best wishes

Mrs Lewis

School Photos

A reminder that school photos will be on Thursday 25th April - this week!

Internet Safety

Please remember to speak to your children carefully about internet safety and ensure you know what they are looking at and watching whilst using tablets and devices.  We regularly speak to the children in school about what to do if they see anything they are worried about on the internet and will be looking at running an internet safety workshop for parents soon.

Children can now wear summer uniform.  Please click here to visit the link on school website about school uniform.  Please note though that all children should be wearing black school shoes (not trainers) and polo shirts should only be worn by children in Reception.  Ties do not need to be worn in the summer term.

The second hand uniform sale runs until the end of this week and is currently set up in the main entrance.

We are also finding that lots of uniform and PE kit is unnamed - please ensure all items are clearly labelled with your child’s name.

Medical Updates

If there have been any changes or updates to your child’s medical needs, including medications and allergies, please ensure that you inform the school and fill out the relevant forms.  If your child has an inhaler or epipen in school please check the medication is in date!

Please also remember we are a nut and sesame seed free school, can we ask that you do not send your children in with any nut product - this includes Nutella and Peanut butter.

RM Unify

Remember all children have a log in to RM Unify (which can be found in their reading record or homework diary).  Please use these websites to support your child’s learning at home.  RM Unify can be accessed via the Pupil Area on the school website or via the following link https://hagbourneschool.rmunify.com/.  Children in Key Stage 2 now also have access to Times Tables Rockstars to support them with learning their times tables.

Car Park

Please could we ask that only Blue Badge holders park in the disabled spaces in the village hall.  Please also take care not to block these spaces in.  We do have families in our own school who need to use these spaces and they may also be needed by Blue Badge holders from the wider community.  If this continues to be an issue, we will ask the local PCSOs to monitor the situation.
