Arc Fund FAQ’s
1. What is the primary goal of this program?
- The primary goal of the Arc Fund is to invest in Southeast Michigan culture-workers of color.
2. Who should apply for the Arc Fund?
- Everyone is welcome to apply. Priority will be given to culture-workers of color based in Southeast Michigan who have continued to experience historical trends of disadvantage, underrepresentation, and oppression given their race.
3. How does the Arc Fund specifically address racial equity?
- The Arc Fund aims to spur growth in the careers of culture workers who have experienced historical trends of disadvantage, underrepresentation, and oppression due to their race.
4. How much funding is available?
- This $1.5 million initiative will make approximately 74 awards of $15,000 each, and all successful applicants will be awarded access to professional development experiences.
5. How will applications be evaluated?
- Applications will be reviewed by arts and cultural professionals who have ties to and/or context for the Southeast Michigan cultural sector. Reviewers will read and score a batch of applications; all applications will be read by three reviewers. CultureSource staff will also review applications for alignment with the fund’s goals.
6. Are there any reporting requirements for Arc Fund recipients?
- While there are no reporting requirements, Arc Fund awardees should expect to participate in all related programmatic activity.
