1. Changes resulting from meeting with Naval Architect, Nicholas Barczak, PE

We have a lot of productive take-aways from our latest meeting with the naval architect Nicholas Barczak, PE:

Concept Design: We would need a more complete concept design of the vessel we have planned. This would include both 3d and 2d cross-section images with lots of marked-up areas with additional notes and details. As a result of the Jones Act, shipping design and construction is incredibly expensive, so we’ll probably reach out to South Korean architects to achieve this.
US laws override GPL licenses and make sharing ship designs legally difficult, and naval architects charge a lot more to be able to share the contracted naval designs with the world through a GPL license.
While S.H.I. continues to produce the best deals on new mega ships, a custom New Liberty design from them is not likely to happen because our $165 million New Liberty vessel is too small compared to the almost $1 billion projects they are currently busy fulfilling. Instead, we’ll probably need to work within the design of the current mega container ships S.H.I. is mass-producing and simply buy one of those instead. The resulting costs would likely be the same, but the internal layout would be different. Look for updates from us on this in the coming months.

2. Changes to project timeline that better match more consistent progress (completion in 2042 instead of 2037)

We're at year 5 of this project, and as we progress, we continue to learn and grow and the project continues to mature.

2.5 years ago we came up with our initial financial goal estimates that take us line-upon-line to our long-term funding goals over 4 phases. While we've been keeping to the Phase 2 (our current phase) estimated funding schedule by doubling our resulting funding each year, there was a gap between Phases 2&3 and 3&4 which never sat right with me, since it involved a jump of 1141% (from 2025 to 2026) and 1712% (from 2029 to 2030) respectively instead of the normal 200% per year. Correcting this and having all future years continue at the current pace of doubling each year would mean adding 5 years onto our 19 year project, and funding would be estimated to be completed in 2039.

3. Unique marketing opportunity to offer middle-eastern civilians peace for those who seek it

Even when a country is defending itself, war remains ugly, and there are many innocent civilians who suffer through accidents in the ensuing bloody conflict. We’re working on a pitch we hope to bring to the UN where we show how their funding of the Freedom Haven project could give 5,000 innocent civilian families a new start in a peaceful place with a thriving new free market.

No. That use of force against them is NOT justified.

In Freedom Haven, force (threatening someone else’s life, freedom, and/or property) is never justified outside of defending life from murder, defending freedom from kidnapping (et al.), and defending property from theft (et al.). While helping a person in need extend their life might be morally good, in Freedom Haven it is not required by law, and not doing this isn’t recognized as them having initiated violence against you.

If you use force against someone who did NOT initiate force against you first, then YOU are the initiator of force here and are in violation of Freedom Haven law. We can ask for help with what we need, but we are not entitled to other people’s life, freedom, or property and we should not seek to obtain help we seek under threats of force. Taking someone else’s life (outside of self-defense) is murder, forcing a doctor to treat you against his will is slavery, and taking medicine that isn’t yours is theft.

On this subject, it’s also important to remember that the above strict adherence to the peaceful coexistence involving respecting each other’s life, freedom, and property, will result in the highest levels of social freedom and economic freedom on the planet. As a result of this, we would be producing many products and services (such as those in the medical industry) cheaper and higher quality than the rest of the world - we would more likely be the ones offering cures to other countries in the world instead of the other way around.

Monthly Freedom Haven constitution section mini-overview

The Preamble of Freedom Haven Constitution:
We the individual People, in order to secure the human right to defend ourselves, to limit the scope of Government, and to secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, so that we can have the chance to learn, grow, and work towards achieving our greatest individual divine potentials (so that through our efforts, and without compulsory means, prosperity may flow unto us forever and ever), do ordain and establish this Constitution for the Provinces that form the Country of Freedom Haven.

ARTICLE II: HUMAN RIGHTS

There are no human rights but those that exist for all people. No third party can take away an individual's human rights, and no government permission is needed to have and use these human rights. All human rights are based on the truth of self-ownership. Human rights do not include threatening someone else's life, freedom, and/or property unless it is justified for self-defense. Therefore: Human rights are those things where the individual human is sometimes justified in using Force to defend: Namely, the right to defend Life, Freedom, and/or Property.
