Hello listeners and welcome to Wifestyle Hustle. Today we are going to have some fun. We're going to do another Would You Rather episode. So for this we've got some really fun questions picked out. And as always, we would love to hear from you, our listeners. If you have an answer to any of these questions, please feel free to leave a comment on either our website or any of our social media play or any of our social media platforms.
But first, let's talk about our lives. Lauren, what you got going on?
Lauren (00:48.951)
The garden is fully productive! I got my first tomato today.
Ellyn (00:53.869)
that's exciting.
Lauren (00:55.619)
I know, in mid -July it's a little embarrassing.
Ellyn (01:00.205)
Well, not for me it wouldn't be. I still haven't had mine.
Lauren (01:02.669)
I know.
So now hopefully none of my neighbors listen to this, but I, the cucumbers are going crazy. You were just here. So we got to spend some time together this last week. That's the most exciting part of my life right now.
Ellyn (01:08.551)
Yes.
Ellyn (01:25.755)
And it was really fun.
Lauren (01:27.585)
It was, even though it was really hot
Ellyn (01:31.165)
It was ridiculous. You people keep it ridiculous there.
Lauren (01:36.109)
Which, you know, it is kind of funny because when we were at your house, it was these temperatures. Well, when we were up north, it was these temperatures as well. And that was the presiding theme of our conversation about it. It's how odd it was. But.
Ellyn (01:55.275)
Yep, it was warm, but we still managed to have a lot of fun.
Ellyn (02:09.884)
the highlight of the trip for us was Lauren and her kids took us over to the Appalachian Trail and we got to walk a couple of miles on that and we met some other hikers and picked many, many, many raspberries and blackberries and we just had a great day. It was just a blast. And then we came back and Lauren made us all berry jam. So it was fun.
Lauren (02:37.545)
Mixed berry jam. The kids were really excited about it. My son named it, Berry Blast. It's like my moment to remember, but yeah, he was pretty excited. they had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches the day after you guys left and they were amazing.
Ellyn (02:39.466)
It was really fun.
Ellyn (02:48.451)
Yeah.
Ellyn (03:02.346)
Yep, and we have had it on toast a couple of times since we've gotten home and so we've gotten to talk a little bit about the Appalachian Trail even since we've been back home. So it was fun. We really had a good time and we also that same day as a treat to ourselves for our long, long hike, which Jason clocked for us. It was two point.
four miles, I think.
Lauren (03:34.687)
Yeah, we didn't go very far,
Ellyn (03:37.477)
And as well, I felt like we did because, you know, a lot of our people have kind of short legs. We treated ourselves to some ice cream because there's really nothing better than having ice cream when you're really, really hot, which we definitely were because we chose the hottest day of our visit to do the Appalachian Trail. And it was so hot.
Lauren (04:01.035)
Yeah, that's true. We all got up at the crack of dawn that day at eight. Well, we got up earlier, but we left the house at eight something. Wasn't precisely eight, but.
Ellyn (04:08.548)
Yeah. Yeah?
Ellyn (04:16.616)
It was a fun day and we got to, Lauren and I got to visit a couple of stores on a different day that I don't have around here. So we got to, I got to get some new spices and stuff to try. she has a restaurant supply store not far from her. So I resupplied myself with that. And so it was just a really fun trip. We had a good time.
And the kids played and played and played and played.
Lauren (04:50.711)
They did, we put them into the same room and I think they did much better this time. They weren't all in there. I think it's really important to note that it was just the girls in the one room this time instead of my son too, who may be a little bit too exciting.
Ellyn (05:04.699)
Yeah.
Lauren (05:20.407)
That made it a little bit easier. He complained about it. He's like, well, no one shares my room. And I was like, someday you'll be glad.
Ellyn (05:29.798)
And my youngest also complained vigorously that she did not get to sleep in the same room with your son because he's a lot of fun, especially after the parents leave.
Lauren (05:42.259)
is quite entertaining.
Lauren (05:48.723)
Right, yeah. Let's turn on the light and have some kind of rave in the air. But they all had a good time playing with each other too. But of course, you know, as all people do, they started to get a little bit tired of each other after a while. And it was just the right number of days to be together. And I feel like we certainly packed a lot of
Ellyn (05:55.999)
Fun times!
Ellyn (06:13.462)
It definitely was.
Lauren (06:17.334)
into those few days.
Ellyn (06:19.861)
Definitely, yes, we surely did. And we had a good time together. It was worth the drive, even though the drive was no fun. Either direction.
Lauren (06:25.613)
Mm -hmm.
Lauren (06:34.669)
We made new food while you were here. got, so we went to this awesome store around here. That's it's like an Indian grocery. And if, if you live in the proper place, I totally recommend you going into stores that are designed for other countries
Ellyn (06:58.63)
different ethnic groups that might be in your area.
Lauren (07:01.267)
Right. And just buying some stuff. Just buying some stuff that you haven't ever had before and taking it home and Googling it because we had to do that to figure out what it even was. and, you know, learning how to cook it and just trying it out. The things that we got were really good.
Ellyn (07:22.228)
Mm So we got a long squash, which is akin to zucchini only bigger and shinier. And then we got another thing that I can't remember the name
Lauren (07:37.481)
either, but it looked like a green tomato. But it was really hard. It had an inside more like an apple.
Ellyn (07:44.77)
Mm -hmm. I knew we thought that was good too. And we we did a medley of those two things together and
Lauren (07:51.054)
And we all had it for dinner and it was good. And it was, it was a learning experience too, because the way that we cooked it, like if I did it again, I wouldn't do it exactly the same way. So we learned something.
Ellyn (07:53.964)
It was.
Ellyn (08:02.274)
Mm -hmm.
We did. So when you walk through this store, have around most of the outside of the store, they have dry goods. And what I found interesting was there was an entire wall of this store that was nothing but 50 pound bags of every kind of rice you could think of. I know like four types of rice. That's it. I feel like I'm pretty worldly in my knowledge
Lauren (08:29.953)
Ha ha ha.
Ellyn (08:33.804)
They, every two feet in this door along this wall, there was a new kind of rice that I had never heard of. It was so interesting. And then also had another whole wall that was nothing but spices. And again, super interesting because half of the stuff, I know a lot of spices, so I knew a lot of them, but a lot of them I had never heard of before. So
Lauren (08:48.515)
Mm
Lauren (09:08.407)
Yep. Now we know. So it was an Indian food store. And while I was in there, I was thinking, now I know why everyone was so anxious to get to the Indies when they were driving around the world trying to find the best, you know, fastest route to the Indies because all the seasoning. mean, who wouldn't want that? Have you ever tried British food? Anyway.
Ellyn (09:20.946)
Right.
Lauren (09:38.905)
no offense to anyone in particular.
Ellyn (09:42.047)
it was a completely foreign experience because they, very little in the store did I recognize as, yeah, I know what that is. And most of it didn't have English on it. So we just kind of had to guess what it was. so it was, I'm with Lauren here. If you have an ethnic grocery from anywhere in the world,
Lauren (09:49.239)
Mm -hmm.
Ellyn (10:11.569)
in your area, highly recommend visiting it. It is so much fun. Take a friend because you guys can wander around together. I will say that Lauren and I stuck out like a sore thumb in that place.
Lauren (10:27.253)
Which makes it all the more good. I like that this area has a grocery store where people can go and even get a slight glimmer of home and the way that things, like a comfort of the things that they remembered seeing at home. that's very, I don't know, it made me feel good being in there.
Ellyn (10:44.083)
Mm -hmm.
Ellyn (10:55.368)
Yep. And everyone in there was very kind to us because again, we stick out. So they wanted to help us poor white girls. And so it was just it was a fun experience. Highly recommend if you live in an area that has something like that. It was fun to do. The only thing I would recommend that we didn't do is try to visit at a time of day when they aren't as busy. We chose late Saturday afternoon and this was not a good time to visit. They were packed. So where we could have done internet research, we weren't able to because it was just too busy in there to slow down and, you know, look things up on Google. So we bought a few things blind, but it worked out well. It was good.
Lauren (11:51.565)
Yep, it was fun. It did work out really well. I feel like we picked some easy access things. It was hard to mess up.
Ellyn (12:00.976)
Yeah, right.
Lauren (12:05.055)
All right, first question. There's a little debate over this question. I say we should have to pick only one of the three things and Ellen says two. So I think we'll do both. Of coffee, chocolate, and salt, which two things would you like to keep.
Ellyn (12:10.223)
He he.
Ellyn (12:26.949)
So if I could only keep two, I would definitely choose coffee and salt. I like chocolate, but I could drop it. It wouldn't hurt me too bad to lose it. And I already know what you will say.
Lauren (12:43.287)
I think I would pick, yeah, would say chocolate and salt because coffee, for one, I coffee is replaceable. You could drink tea instead. You could drink black tea. You could drink mushroom tea. You could drink, there's coffee replacements. But I think even if you're a caffeine person that you could, you know, make it happen, but I'm not. So it just makes the choice really easy for me. I don't have to have coffee. So chocolate and salt. If I had to bring it down to one, I think it would be salt because salt is not only a seasoning for all food, but also integral to your body working right. Yes.
Ellyn (13:30.804)
It's a necessary component, necessary thing that you need in your life. And I would choose the same simply for the reasons you just mentioned. That was how I was going to get my work around to your making me choose just one. I was going to drink my tea, which I am a big tea lover, so it really wouldn't be a big sacrifice for me. I would miss my morning cup of coffee.
Lauren (13:54.585)
It would be a Yeah, it would be a sacrifice because there isn't anything that's as lovely now as a nice dark cup of coffee. But I think I mean, I think giving up anything in particular that you like is a sacrifice.
Ellyn (14:13.526)
Mm -hmm.
Lauren (14:15.267)
But salt isn't something you should give up
Ellyn (14:19.394)
Right. You have to have salt in your diet. Some of us have too much salt in our diet. Some of us just adore the flavor of salt and, you know, yeah.
Lauren (14:25.985)
Mm -hmm. Mm -hmm.
Lauren (14:29.899)
Yeah, I don't think you have too much though.
Ellyn (14:35.447)
I don't know. I'm not sure. I'm not even going to really explore that because it doesn't matter. I'm eating salt on my food.
Lauren (14:40.013)
Yeah, things are gonna change. But yeah, I would give up chocolate, which would be really
Ellyn (14:52.007)
Yeah, that would be a sacrifice for you. You love your chocolate
Lauren (14:56.953)
I would. A few years ago, like 10 or 15 years ago, I was like, why am I eating any dessert that doesn't have chocolate in it? That's just a stupid waste of calories. So I cut soda and I cut soda at that time too because I didn't drink coffee. So when I wanted caffeine, I drank soda. And we actually, when we first got married, I drank a lot of soda.
Ellyn (15:10.386)
Yes.
Ellyn (15:16.81)
Mm -hmm.
Lauren (15:26.199)
But, yep, so I cut soda and I really liked gummy candy, which is terrible for your teeth. And I cut that too. This was like in my extreme early adulthood. And you know, I, I haven't missed those things at all, but I would really miss chocolate. It would be terrible.
Ellyn (15:38.285)
Mm -hmm.
Ellyn (15:48.476)
Yeah.
Yes!
And I'll eat chocolate, but I prefer other things. Like I love fruity desserts. I love a good crisp. If I'm having something homemade, like an apple crisp or something, I love stuff like that. I, but I like chocolate. If somebody were put a nice piece of chocolate pie in front of me, I wouldn’t go, you, but I just don't need it. That's disgusting.
Lauren (15:58.239)
I know.
Lauren (16:13.507)
Mm -hmm.
Lauren (16:18.365)
Ew, take it away, get me a piece of cherry pie. So one of my friends, I just learned this about one of my friends, she won't eat any cooked fruit. She doesn't like it. She said she likes fruit when it's raw, but she won't eat it when it's cooked. She doesn't like it like
Ellyn (16:30.587)
Really? Hmm.
Ellyn (16:39.831)
Interesting. My older daughter is kind of like that. She will eat it some. But most cooked fruits, she doesn't like cooked apples or anything like that. She would rather just have an apple. All right, next question. Favorite type of movie? And we have a few options here. We have comedy, drama, horror, action, or sci -fi.
What do you think?
Lauren (17:11.993)
Probably action or sci -fi?
I don't know. I don't know if I can pick between the two of them. I really like action because it's entertaining. Well, I should probably talk about why I don't like the others. I don't know why I don't like comedy as much as I used to. I guess because we don't watch very much TV.
Ellyn (17:40.06)
Mm -hmm.
Lauren (17:41.219)
I think it's more frivolous. I'm not really sure, but I never have the craving to watch comedy.
Ellyn (17:46.769)
I think comedy isn't as funny as it once was. It's not that, and maybe I have changed too, but I just don't find current comedy as funny as it used to be. Do you?
Lauren (18:02.839)
Yeah. I, you know, I still enjoy standup from some people. it depends on who it is, but I, you know, I enjoy standup comedy where their main source of being funny isn't just cursing over and over again. think that's not really funny. I'm sorry. I don't find that amazing, but I, I really do enjoy standup because
Ellyn (18:22.066)
Mm -hmm.
Lauren (18:31.019)
A lot of times they explore ways of thinking that I wouldn't have thought of and it's usually kind of, it's funny. Yeah, I just, do enjoy standup, just not in movies.
Lauren (18:48.717)
more dramatized or something I don't know. Drama, I've got enough of that in my own life and horror gives me nightmares. So there's that.
Lauren (19:03.371)
Although I did watch Downton Abbey, I'm pretty sure that's drama.
Isn't it? Yeah. Historical drama. But I did really enjoy that, although I didn't watch it with my husband, which also cuts down on the enjoyment for me. We watch one episode of something every night or half a movie. Yeah. So it's our little bit of time together. And then we chat for a while before bed.
Lauren (19:39.127)
How about you?
Ellyn (19:41.393)
I would say this is really hard for me because I actually like a lot of movies. The only thing I really just don't like is horror. I'll never watch another horror movie. I saw one my last horror movie about maybe 15 years ago and I'm like, all right, I will never watch.
Lauren (20:00.441)
Was it that long? I said, was it that long? I thought mine was about 15 years ago.
Ellyn (20:05.913)
Yeah. Maybe it was longer than that. I don't know. It was long enough ago that I don't remember. But I walked out of that movie and said, I'm never watching another horror movie because it just disturbed me so much that I will never watch another one. I would say for me. Honestly, it really depends on my mood. I would say my favorite would Action or sci -fi? I like a good action movie. I like the suspense. I love apocalyptic movies. The world is ending and we must save it. I love movies like that that are done well. I mean, I am picky about my actors. So if it's somebody I don't absolutely love, then the movie just won't mean as much to me.
Ellyn (21:05.265)
But I love good action done well, and I do like sci -fi. I think it has a level of It can have a level of silliness to it that I Appreciate and it kind of it sometimes can like go into the realm of comedy sci -fi can so
Lauren (21:27.551)
Again, but without meaning to, which is what makes it so funny.
Ellyn (21:31.801)
Right. Yes, yes. So I would say action or sci -fi for me, but there's room in my repertoire for comedy and drama too. It really, really just depends on the mood and what we want to watch. And I almost always watch my movies with my husband.
we meld together on what we want to watch.
Lauren (22:02.901)
Right, right. I wonder if it's changed because we're married. I, no, I don't know. My husband would watch much more comedy than I am interested in watching. He enjoys it. He always, well, television shows, which I just, I don't know. We've watched a few things together. That is funny. Like when he can talk me into it, I usually have a pretty good time.
Lauren (22:32.931)
But sometimes after the first episode, I'm like, please don't make me watch this anymore.
Ellyn (22:38.761)
Watch this after I go to bed. I do, I love a good series. If I can sit down and pick out a series that I really like, a television series, and it has 10 seasons, that's happiness right there, because I don't have to think anymore. I sit down, I turn it on, and I watch the next episode, and that's it. I don't have to think about, oh, what do you want to watch?
Lauren (22:57.323)
I know. Totally.
Lauren (23:03.545)
It has to get really bad. It has to get really bad for me to wanna like... And it's happened. I've been like on season 10 and been like, all right, I'm done here. I don't watch this anymore.
Ellyn (23:16.785)
Too dumb. Right. So, yeah, that's kind of in the more in the realm of television shows, but I just love a good television series because then I don't have to think anymore. Thinking of a different movie every night or, you know, even just once a week, I don't like to do it at all. I'd rather just have a series that I enjoy.
Lauren (23:21.795)
Yes.
Lauren (23:34.891)
Mm -hmm. It stinks. Yeah.
Lauren (23:57.815)
Would you rather have a hot or cold drink?
Ellyn (24:02.299)
For me, hot. I'd rather have a hot drink in the summertime than a cold drink in the winter. So if I could only have one, it would be hot
Lauren (24:15.115)
Yeah, that's I mean, I was going to say I'd rather have hot in the winter and cold in the summer, but if we're just picking
Ellyn (24:24.035)
Right, I mean obviously so would I, but if you only get one I would choose hot and then maybe just skip it in the summer.
Lauren (24:25.345)
Hey, I don't know.
If I was going to give up coffee, I drink decaf. But yeah, if I were going to give that up, I think it wouldn't be as hard for me to say cold. Probably in the winter, I just wouldn't drink anything but water. And that would stink. I would want something warm to drink. But I also really enjoy
like a mixed drink or cold tea in the summer months. So I don't know. That would be really hard to decide.
Ellyn (25:07.078)
Mm -hmm.
Ellyn (25:10.715)
That's tough. It really is. You made me think about it a little bit more.
I think I would still stick with hot because in the morning.
Lauren (25:21.175)
I think, yeah, I think if I were in, yes, yes.
Ellyn (25:26.797)
In the morning, I would not want to drink a cold drink. So that would be enough for me to just say
Lauren (25:33.605)
Mm hmm. Right now, I don't like I know how most normal people get up and they drink a cup of coffee as soon as they get out of bed. I don't do that. I usually wait a few hours or whatever until I have breakfast and I always drink my coffee is like the dessert to breakfast. And I only have one cup. So one big cup. I mean, it's a big cup of coffee,
Ellyn (25:56.753)
But I was gonna say, I was just at your house. You can't just say you have one cup. It's like three cups in one.
Lauren (26:05.689)
It is. I think it's a it's an 18 ounce cup. It's really quite large.
Ellyn (26:13.071)
It's a soup bowl.
Lauren (26:17.557)
Yep, it is actually it was a soup cup. That's what I originally got it for was to make soup in it. And had morphed into my coffee cup because it holds the full amount of the single cup coffee maker on my coffee maker.
Ellyn (26:38.339)
Would you rather dress fashionably or comfortably?
Lauren (26:42.733)
I'll let you go first on this one. I can't see me dressing fashionably and then going out and picking, you know, a row of green beans in the garden. I just don't see that going over very well with anyone, me personally or the neighbors or the people driving by.
Ellyn (26:46.255)
No, I'm gonna say comfortably. I'll go comfortably. But.
Lauren (27:11.083)
None of us would enjoy it.
Ellyn (27:14.763)
And I could be comfortable and go to church. So I feel like I could still pull off looking good while being comfortable. I don't think comfortably has to be my holy pants and my stretched out shirt. Comfortable can also be fashionable, but rarely is fashionable comfortable.
Lauren (27:22.776)
right.
Lauren (27:42.411)
Yeah, that's true. That's true. I don't, I've just never really thought that I needed to meet some kind of standard in my dress. It's always what looks good and what is comfortable. Comfort is like, it's right up there with any piece of clothing that I choose. It's be, it's gotta be there. I don't
Ellyn (28:07.056)
Yeah.
Lauren (28:11.523)
tugging at my clothes and messing around with everything all the
Ellyn (28:16.091)
No, me neither.
Lauren (28:20.365)
Would you rather read fiction or nonfiction?
Ellyn (28:25.873)
Fiction all day. You?
Lauren (28:27.959)
Yeah, me too. I, I, I'm trying to get into nonfiction and I'm, and I'm pushing to like learn new stuff or whatever. But still, if I had to choose only one that I could have for the rest of my life, it would definitely be fiction.
Ellyn (28:39.468)
Mm -hmm.
Lauren (28:51.091)
I enjoy the, and you know, it's kind of the same with television, I enjoy the thinking of something new, you know, that I hadn't ever thought of in storytelling, especially. Then I can spend time thinking about it too. And a lot of times nonfiction is historical and I mean, I guess you could learn some... some... you could learn something new, but it would be real. Not really thought -provoking.
Ellyn (29:28.63)
And it feels, nonfiction to me at least tends to be more dry. And so when I sit down to read nonfiction, I'm doing it to learn something. So I'm not doing it for enjoyment. And I do read nonfiction for sure, but it isn't, I'm doing it because I want to learn something new, not because I want to enjoy it. My husband reads a lot of nonfiction and that's what he likes, he can read it before bed. But for me, if I read something where I was learning something new before bed, I wouldn't be able to sleep because I would want to go and apply that new knowledge like right now. And it would keep me from being able to relax. And usually that's what I'm doing when I'm reading is trying to settle in or relax or, it for me, nonfiction isn't a relaxing genre. It's
Lauren (30:13.09)
Mm -hmm.
Lauren (30:26.35)
Mm -hmm.
Ellyn (30:28.999)
get up and go sort of thing. The things I want to learn are things I want to do. So I tend to read nonfiction, like, you know, stuff like that. If I'm going to like learn history or something, if I choose a historical fiction, so I can learn history while also enjoying the story.
Lauren (30:50.167)
Yep. For me, if I tried to read nonfiction at bedtime, I would not learn anything. I would just go to sleep.
Ellyn (31:42.1)
Yes. Would you rather undo a past mistake or never make another
Lauren (31:54.197)
Never make another mistake.
Ellyn (31:58.268)
Yeah, and I feel like that's the bigger thing also. I mean, just undoing one past mistake or never making another one. I mean, it's a bigger thing, certainly, because I'm slated to make a whole lot of mistakes in the future.
Lauren (32:10.339)
Mm -hmm.
Lauren (32:15.019)
Right, yeah. And two, I feel like if I had driven drunk and killed an entire family that I would probably go ahead and undo that past mistake. But I haven't ever made a mistake, as far as I know, that had a big implication for a lot of other people. So I would feel better never making that kind of mistake
Ellyn (32:49.491)
Yep, definitely. And I have to agree, I would choose never to make another mistake. Unfortunately, we don't get this choice really. So like I said, I'm slated to make a of mistakes, I'm sure, in my future.
Lauren (33:01.023)
I know, what's sad.
Lauren (33:07.811)
Hopefully none as catastrophic as the one I mentioned. But you never know. It is. and it's one, it's one a lot of people make, like, and, and I feel
Ellyn (33:13.182)
Certainly not. That one is a completely avoidable mistake. Don't drive drunk, people.
Lauren (33:26.795)
A lot of mistakes that people make are like that and something that you could easily avoid, but it doesn't feel like it at the time. Not necessarily that one, but there's lots of other ones that have big implications for other people. And, like I said, there's lots of people in the world who they think about their past mistakes and there's one big bad thing that they did that they'd love to erase.
Ellyn (33:37.308)
Right,
Ellyn (33:43.699)
Mm -hmm.
Ellyn (33:56.883)
Mm -hmm.
Lauren (33:57.085)
And I don't think I have that. There's little things that I would change. I would tell my parents I've gotten married and maybe invite them to the wedding. That's a mistake I would change, but it's not something that I feel terribly, terribly regretful about. That's just something I would change. It was a dumb mistake that a kid made.
Ellyn (34:13.544)
Mm
Ellyn (34:22.844)
All right.
Ellyn (34:30.185)
and I'm sure they forgive you for
Lauren (34:33.827)
Kind of. We just don't talk about it.
Ellyn (34:35.099)
Alright, moving right along. This one's just silly, so I'm gonna ask you, would you rather have smelly feet or bad breath? Smelly feet?
Lauren (34:49.004)
Smelly feet.
Yup, they're way down there below the nose. You know, it's possible that even if they are smelly, no one would know about it because you've got them like in shoes and
Ellyn (35:00.805)
I have lived with people who have smelly feet and it is not possible not to know. In my experience, the people who have the smelly feet take off their shoes and everybody in the house knows that that person has smelly feet. So I don't.
Lauren (35:03.957)
I know.
Lauren (35:10.755)
Hahaha!
Lauren (35:20.991)
Mm -hmm. Mm -hmm. But would you wrap your handset coming out of their
Ellyn (35:28.409)
I feel like I can avoid... These were exceptionally smelly feet.
I feel like I can avoid breathing on someone.
Lauren (35:37.506)
I
Ellyn (35:42.414)
I mean, smelly breath doesn't fill up an entire room with its smell.
Lauren (35:47.209)
It can. you've clearly never been around anyone that really has truly rank
Ellyn (35:54.935)
I guess not. I only have smelly feet experience. And for me, I would choose bad breath over smelly feet because these were exceptionally very, very, really smelly.
Lauren (35:57.207)
You need more practice.
Lauren (36:06.829)
They are really, they are exceptional. It's good to be exceptional.
Ellyn (36:13.337)
Something. So I'm gonna choose bad breath. That's my final answer.
Lauren (36:15.159)
All right.
Alright, that was silly silly.
Lauren (36:23.735)
Okay, I mean, we'll see what happens.
Ellyn (36:27.161)
I'm just going to clean my feet and brush my teeth and now I don't have to worry about
Lauren (36:41.345)
would you rather have an incredibly annoying high pitched voice or a very deep, maddening voice?
Ellyn (36:55.693)
This one is so silly.
Lauren (36:57.483)
It is. It's terrible.
Ellyn (37:03.16)
I think I choose the deep voice because annoying high voice is just so irritating when I've been around people who have it. And at the risk of someone thinking that I was a man, I'd still choose the manly voice because I am, I'm tall for a woman. And so there is a chance that it's possible. People might wonder if
Lauren (37:06.773)
I would too. It's terrible.
And
Ellyn (37:33.055)
wasn't one. But I would still choose the manly voice because high voices can be so irritating.
Lauren (37:42.069)
I can. And I feel that when a person is possessed of a very high, squeaky voice, it's less possible for them to bring that down. And not like bring it down, like it almost like doesn't even enter their thinking to bring it down. But I've heard lots of people with a deep voice bring it up, you know, for comic
So I, you know, I could maybe do that. Yes, exactly. I urge us not talk in public.
Ellyn (38:12.801)
So it's possible to correct it. Yeah.
No, let's just be over here.
Lauren (38:23.861)
Exactly. I would also choose the deep manly voice. I actually kind of, I don't have a deep manly voice, but I do have a deeper voice already. So I don't know if it would be too much of a change.
Ellyn (38:44.477)
Right, right. For the question's sake, it would change. You a very deep voice. All right, last question. I'm actually very curious about your answer on this one. Would you rather go into the past and meet your ancestors or go into the future and meet your great -great grandchildren.
Lauren (39:09.762)
that's a difficult one.
Lauren (39:18.903)
I think I'm going to answer two parts. the going back into the past, you theoretically in this, you would know what you would still possess the knowledge of what happens. Right. So.
Ellyn (39:21.864)
Okay, go
Ellyn (39:33.511)
Mm -hmm. Sure. This is your you're making it up. Go ahead.
Lauren (39:38.487)
Right, so you'd be able to avoid theoretically anything that was really bad that was happening in the world at that time. Like, this isn't the place to be. It's almost time for a war. So you could be like, hey, ancestors, let's move and avoid bad things. However, if you went into the future, you would have no idea it was gonna be like, like what the world was gonna be like. So you'd be jumping blind into who knows? Like maybe they've accidentally blown off half the planet and your future great great grandchildren are living in some really bad situation. At least in the past you know what had happened. However, there's also the thought of the loss of toilets and sanitary living. So there's that to think about as well. But I think I would say past because of the surety that you'd have in what was there. Jumping into the future, there might be nothing for all you know.
Ellyn (40:34.537)
Mm
Ellyn (40:50.143)
Mm -hmm.
Ellyn (41:01.727)
So my thought on this was far more shallow than yours. You actually put a lot of thought into that. I thought about this question as more, would you just rather visit with these either ancestors or grandchildren? And not worrying so much about the world beyond this visit. So for me, I have always had fascination with where I came from, where my family came from. So I would definitely choose the past because I would like to know more. you know, a lot of history is lost when the older generation is gone. So I would like to know more about that. My great -great -great grandparents history and of course the only way to do that would be to go be able to visit them. So for me I would I would definitely choose the past and but then to meet my great grandchildren would be pretty cool too. But I think I would still choose the past.
Lauren (42:14.937)
I'd be so because it wouldn't just be like we've had three kids, so our great great grandchildren, there would be like hundreds of people.
Ellyn (42:30.291)
Possibly, yeah.
Lauren (42:31.009)
So it would be really interesting to see what they all do, what they look like, kind of jobs they have. Are they the ones that are in charge of securing the remaining oxygen on the planet? know, know, like
Ellyn (42:36.923)
Mm -hmm.
Ellyn (42:46.259)
Again, here you go, deep. I just want to ask about their lives, okay?
Lauren (42:54.073)
Anyway, well guys, is this has been we wanted to do something a little bit lighter after our last few episodes and this has been really fun. If you have an answer that is significantly different or deeper than ours, you can send it to any of the things that Ellyn mentioned above. We'd love to hear from you if you have time.
Ellyn (43:05.725)
Yes.
Lauren (43:23.202)
Until next time.
