54th Street 2023-24 School Improvement Plan

1. Reading Goal: 50% of all 54th Street Academy students will meet or exceed their projected growth on the Reading NWEA assessment for Fall 2023 to Spring 2024.  Currently 40%

1. Activity: 54th St. students will take the NWEA to gather true data. Data will be implemented in the curriculum and align areas of improvement as well as grade-level content through scaffolding and engagement strategies.
2. ALL staff (regardless of teaching assignment) will be expected to contribute to reading activities within their lessons.

2. Math Goal: 60% of all 54th Street Academy students will meet or exceed their projected growth on the Math NWEA assessment for Fall 2023 to Spring 2024.  Currently 56%

1. Activity: 54th St. students will take the NWEA to gather true data. Data will be implemented in the curriculum and align areas of improvement as well as grade-level content through scaffolding and engagement strategies.
2. Activity: All students will have access/exposure to grade-level work through scaffolding and engagement strategies.

3. Whole Child Goal (SEL): 54th Street Academy will reduce the number of disciplinary actions.

1. Activity: All students will engage in “Circle Time” with our school counselor once a week.

2. Activity: All students will complete a universal screener developed

by Kelloggsville Public Schools in the Fall of 2023 and again in the Spring of 2024. This screener will identify student areas of need pertaining to social and emotional growth.

4. Creation of School Improvement/Building Leadership Team.

Activity:  Meet at least once per marking period to review SI plan and make changes if needed.
