City Dance & Music seeks a Program Intern for Summer Semester 2024
The summer session starts on June 1st
The ideal students appreciate attention to detail, and enjoy interacting with children, teens, and adults from all walks of life! The interns will support the Directors and designated Office Staff in a variety of administrative and artistic duties, including, but not limited to:
Sample Artistic Duties:
- Classroom teaching assistant for classes with students ages 3 - 12
- Classroom demonstrator for students ages 12 - Adult
- Supporting the costume shop
- Supporting program evaluation, student evaluation, and pedagogical practice in dance and/or music
- Documenting choreography and class processes, as requested
Sample Administrative Duties:
- Front desk coverage (one evening or Saturday, weekly)
- Support program recruitment and marketing functions, including digital marketing
- Support with funding development mailings and grant research
- Supporting functions/events (ie open house, classroom monitoring for summer camp, national dance day, etc.)
- Other duties as requested by University or College program faculty
Depending on the number of qualified candidates accepted, as well as their experience and backgrounds, we will develop a job description for each intern position, crafted to enhance their skills, interests, and abilities.
Internship Requirements:
- Dance/Music Major or Minor with a strong technical focus in ballet and contemporary styles (preferred, not required for administrative assistance)
- Proficient in written and verbal English
- Proficient in MS Office (word, excel, publisher, etc.), and the Google environment
- Preference is given to students who are current sophomores or juniors with a GPA of at least 2.75.
Schedule and Salary:
Hours: Flexible Schedule depending on interests totaling 10-20 hours per week for a period of 8 weeks. College or program credit can be applied. Stipend available.
