Join us for a FREE celebration of Disability Pride and community on July 12th! We're taking it to the next level with this year’s hybrid event, combining in-person festivities at Central Park Naumburg Bandshell in NYC and an exclusive online experience. Mark your calendars and get ready for an unforgettable day as we mark the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act!

Traveling by Access - A - Ride: Call Access-A-Ride reservations 1 to 2 days in advance, and share if you're going to “Disability Unite Festival in Central Park” (the exact address is 803 Terrace Dr, New York, NY 10021). The number for reservations is 877-337-2017 and press prompt #2. If there are issues, ask to speak with a supervisor.

FAQs | FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will Disability Unite Festival 2026 be a virtual or in-person event?

The 2026 Disability Unite Festival event will be both an in-person and a virtual event. Everyone from the entire disability community and allied communities are invited to join at the Central Park Naumburg Bandshell on July 12th. To accommodate our communities outside the New York metropolitan area, those wishing to social distance, or for whom virtual is their preferred way to participate, all festival performances and programming will be livestreamed on the DisabilityUnite.Org website, so you can tune in from wherever you’re located.

Where can I watch the festival virtually?

Visit Disabilityunite.org and click the Live Stream Center.

Are there any post event performances?

After 4 p.m., there will be virtual performances for two hours of
exciting virtual music, dance, theater, gaming and more on disabilityunite.org.

I’ve never been to the Bandshell in Central Park. Is it hard to find?

Please enter the Park at 72nd and Fifth Avenue, where we’ll have Volunteer Greeters present and along the route to give directions as well as assist folks en route to the Bandshell.  If you are using Google Maps, please enter the address: ​​”1 E 72nd St, New York, NY 10021”

We are actively seeking volunteers with disability inclusion training (or please attend our training session) to support community wayfinding/mobility needs.

There are various options for traveling to Disability Unite Festival, including accessible public transportation. Please visit the webpage to find directions from your area.

Is the in-person event ADA accessible?

All Disability Unite events meet and exceed ADA accessibility requirements.
ASL, CART, Audio Description will be provided for both in-person and virtual performances.

All Disability Unite events meet and exceed ADA accessibility requirements.

Will the in-person or virtual event take place if it is raining?

Yes. Disability Unite Festival will take place rain or shine, both in-person and virtually.

Are pets allowed at the in-person event?

Leashed pets are allowed, but please be mindful of your animals.

Are strollers allowed at this event?

Yes, strollers are allowed at this event.

Can I ride my bicycle, roller skates, or skateboard?

No, bicycles, roller skates, skateboards and other recreational modes of transportation are not allowed. Any mode of transport used for accessible needs such as motorized scooters are welcome and the grounds are paved.

How much is the event?

Free! We don’t want the cost of a ticket to affect anyone’s desire to attend.

Are there other programs or activities at the in-person event?

Yes. There will be art activities for children, booths from our partners and an interactive art installation.

Are there other programs or activities during the virtual event?

Yes. There will be panel discussions. To be announced at a later date.

When will the schedule for the event be released?

Will there be food or water at the in-person event?

There will be unlimited water available to attendees.

Do I have to be vaccinated to attend the in-person event?

According to CDC guidelines at this time, a vaccination is not required; however, we encourage social distancing, and please enjoy the event virtually if you have any health concerns.

Are there volunteer opportunities for the in-person event?

Yes! There are a number of ways to join the Disability Unite team at the festival.

Are there ways to volunteer virtually?

There are no virtual volunteering positions available during the event, but if you’d like to help us promote the festival before the event date, please join the team! Volunteer by clicking here

Are there advertising opportunities for the virtual event?

No, Disability Unite Festival is funded through grant funding and our generous sponsors. Advertising opportunities are not available. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, contact us at disabilityunite@gmail.com.
