Refreshments will be provided throughout the tournament. An ice cream float break will be provided on Sunday afternoon before final rounds. Groups typically carpool to local places for lunch.

8:30-9 AM: Doors Open, Check-In

9 AM: Main Event Rounds 1-4

Lunch around 12:45 PM

2 PM: Main Event Rounds 5-8

Finish around 5:30 PM

Sunday (Main Event, Day 2)

8:30-8:45 AM: Doors Open,

8:45 AM: Rounds 9-12

Lunch around 12:30 PM

1:30 PM: Rounds 13-14

Ice Cream Bar Break during pairings (~3 PM)

3:15 PM: Rounds 15 & 16

Awards to immediately follow

Finish around 5:30 PM

Prizes

Fun Prizes (cash) include best theme words, sportsmanship, neatest handwriting, best second day record, high game, high loss, tuff luck, high play, biggest upset, most blanks, fewest blanks, etc.

Standard place prizes awarded for each division(s)

Divisions

Division sizes of 16 players are ideal. Final division assignments will be made based on the final roster but generally we would expect to see 1300+ in Division 1 and all others in Division 2. Splitting into three divisions is a possibility.

Lodging/Hotel Information

Towneplace Suites by Marriott just a few minutes from the venue is where several players will be staying. Highly recommend booking early.

Limited to 40 total players

A $20 late fee will be added for all entries after March 14th.

Must be a NASPA member to participate.

All participants must abide by all safety instructions and requirements that NASPA and the Triangle Scrabble Club sets.

Tournament format is subject to the director's discretion. Pairings, division sizes/cutoffs, schedule, etc is all subject to Director’s Discretion.

Gibsonization Rule is in effect (500 spread points per round)
