Lipo Battery Charging
Updated automatically every 5 minutes

Important: Do not attach large and small batteries together!

See details below.

Option 1: Use one of the chargers that are set up in LIFE 2408.

LIFE 2408 “Charging Station”                          Main power switch: on the blue power supply

(Set charge current to no more than 1 amp)

Option 2: Take a charger to your bench, and set it up with your own benchtop power supply.

Follow these exact steps:

  1.  Set current limiter on your benchtop power supply to maximum.
  2.  Set voltage to 15 V.
  3.  After finishing steps 1 and 2, plug in your charger to the power supply. Watch polarity!
  4.  Set sliding switch on charger to 1 amp for the charge current.
  5.  Lastly, attach your lipo battery. See below for charge times. No large and smalls together.

Do not attach large and small batteries together!

Yes:                                      Yes:                                       No!

✔ one large battery                   ✔ one (or two) small batteries            large and small together

Problem: high current might flow through the balancing wires from the large to the small battery. This current might be high enough to burn these wires, depending on the state of charge of each battery.

How long will it take to charge?

Recap: This is what’s inside a lipo battery.
