Dress Code 2025-2026

All students in grades K-8 must be in proper dress code each day.  Students not in proper dress will face disciplinary action.  Items can be purchased from Schoolbelles online or from their retail store.  Holy Cross Elementary’s School ID #  s0768.

BOYS’ UNIFORMS

Pants-        Black or khaki: Dress pants only (uniform style) made of cotton or twill.  All pants must be worn at the waist.  No jeans, cargo, spandex, skinny fit, carpenter or pants with elastic ankles.  No tight fitting pants of any kind.  There should be no rivets or patch pockets (outside pockets) Students in grades 5-8 must wear a brown or black belt.

Shorts-  Black or Khaki: Dress style (uniform style) Walking Shorts.  Shorts should be no higher than an index card turned horizontally above the knee- approximately 4” as measured from the back crease of the knee. No cargo shorts are permitted.  No patch pockets (outside pockets) Uniform shorts may be worn from the start of school until October 31st and from April 1st through the end of the school year.  Students in grades 5-8 must wear a brown or black belt.

Shirts- White, red, gray, or black solid color polo shirts.  White, red, gray, or black polo shirts with the school logo.  All shirts must be tucked in at all times.

GIRLS’ UNIFORM

Jumpers- Holy Cross red plaid jumpers from Schoolbelles Company- grades K-4  Length of jumper should be no more than 4 inches above the knee.

Tights or Leggings- Solid Black or Gray tights or leggings MUST be worn under jumpers and skorts from November 1st- March 31st.

DRESS CODE- BOYS AND GIRLS

SWEATSHIRTS-  Sweatshirts may be worn as part of the uniform if they are Holy Cross Sweatshirts or are from a Holy Cross Elementary/High School team. Solid red, black or gray crewneck sweatshirts are also permitted.  Hoods may not be worn in the upward position in the building.  A uniform shirt must be worn under the sweatshirt. Please write your child’s name on the inside tag of all sweatshirts.

Sweaters-  Solid red, gray, or black cardigans, pullovers, or V-neck sweaters are permitted. Please write your child’s name on the inside tag of all sweaters.

Socks-  Plain red, gray, black, or white socks.  Small logos are acceptable on socks.  Socks must be worn at all times and be visible.

Shoes-  Dress shoes or gym shoes may be worn.  No open toe shoes, sandals, crocs, flip-flops, Tasman slippers, boots or backless shoes are permitted.  All footwear must be worn with socks, and those with shoestrings must be tied.  Gym shoes are required for P.E. classes.  *Snow boots and rain boots may be worn to school on days with inclement weather.  However, shoes must be brought to school to change into during the school day.*

GYM UNIFORM

The gray Property of Holy Cross T-shirt from the Indian Hut or a Solid Gray t-shirt may be worn.  Gym shorts must be solid black and no higher than an index card turned horizontally above the knee- approximately 4” as measured from the back crease of the knee.

Students in grades 5-8 will be required to wear the black Holy Cross (HC) shorts.  These can be purchased at the Indian Hut.

Gym shorts may be worn from the start of the school year until October 31st and from April 1st to the end of the school year. Students will need to wear solid black or gray sweatpants from November 1st- March 31st. Leggings and tight fitting sweatpants are not permitted.

8th GRADE GRADUATION DRESS CODE

Boys may wear dress pants or dress khakis with a button down shirt and tie.  Dress shoes, casual shoes or clean sneakers may be worn.

Girls may wear dresses, dress pants or skirts with a dress top.  No sleeveless, strapless, or spaghetti straps  are permitted unless a jacket or sweater is worn over.  Dresses or skirts should be no shorter than 4” above the knee as measures from the back crease of the knee.  No overly tight dresses or skirts are to be worn.  Dress shoes, casual shoes or clean sneakers may be worn.  Girls may wear heels if they are an appropriate height.

DRESS CODE FOR SACRAMENTS

Confirmation- Boys should wear dress slacks, button down dress shirt and tie.  Girls should wear a dress shirt with dress slack with an appropriate length skirt or dress- no shorter than 4” above the knee as measured from the back crease of the knee.  No sleeveless, strapless, or spaghetti straps  are permitted unless a jacket or sweater is worn over. No overly tight dresses or skirts are to be worn.  Dress shoes are to be worn.  Girls may wear heels if they are an appropriate height.  

First Communion-  Girls are to wear white dresses with or without a veil, white dress shoes.  Boys are to wear nice dress pants, button up shirts, with or without a tie or a suit with dress shoes.

ADDITIONAL DRESS CODE REQUIREMENTS

*Thursdays will be spirit days.  Students may wear a Holy Cross T-shirt with their uniform bottoms*

OUT OF UNIFORM DRESS CODE

Clothing should not have any rips, tears, or holes.

***Failure to adhere to the Holy Cross dress code will result in an OOPS Violation that will be sent home and  signed by a parent and returned to school.    After 3 violations the student will not be permitted to participate in the next out of uniform day.  Any violations received  after the first 3 will result in a demerit and the student will  not be permitted to participate in the next out of uniform day. ***

****Students who fail to wear the proper dress code on an out of uniform day may be asked to call home for a uniform or they will be given something from the office to wear.  Repeat offenders of the uniform policy will lose ALL out of uniform opportunities.
