Special Report: Blitzchung
At the end (and I mean VERY end) of last Friday, President of Blizzard Entertainment J. Allen Brack finally found his one good pen and put out an official statement regarding Blitzchung’s punishment. In a letter written by a close approximation of a human that once felt something they would describe as tonal awareness, Brack announced that Blitzchung’s punishment wouldn’t be as severe as originally announced.
Reduced Sentence
Brack’s letter specified that Blitzchung will receive his prize money and that the one year suspension has been reduced to six months. Both casters will have their suspensions reduced to six months as well.
What was not in the letter
He also retains his spot in Grandmasters Season 3, if he chooses to. This was clarified via a Blizzard employee in a Discord conversation.
In his personal TwitLonger, Blitzchung said that he appreciated Blizzard returning his prize money. He also said he thought six months was still a long time, but appreciates still being allowed to compete in Grandmasters. Blitzchung also said that he wished Blizzard would reconsider their penalty on both of the casters.
Will Blitzchung return?
“Lastly, many people want to know if I would be competing in hearthstone in the future. Honestly, I have no idea on that yet. Since my next tournament is very likely to be the grandmaster tournament next season, it's probably at least a few months from now on. I will take this time to relax myself, to decide if I am staying in competitive the hearthstone scene or not.”
How does this impact esports in general?

So I’m one of these players who started playing Hearthstone in 2019 with the Rise of Shadows expansion. Yeah, I know. I must have been living under a rock or something. Anyway, better late than never! I’m having a blast with the game even though I do feel a little lost sometimes because I don’t understand all the references to past expansions long-time players make. It’s like your friends talking about their exes you never actually met.
So last week I went on this speed date with all those old wild exes you guys dated before in this game. For me it was the first time sitting down with Sylvanas, Ragnaros, N’Zoth and Co. And boy oh boy, are they a crazy-fun group of characters!
At last week’s release I decided I wanted to try to not just copy another HS replay deck but to try to build something on my own for the first time. I had this idea for a resurrect priest but not with the classical resurrection, just relying on my new big brother N’Zoth to bring Deathrattle stuff back so the resurrect pool is cleaner and more controlled. Then I use Seance on N’Zoth if he lives for one turn (what he normally does) to repeat the process. Not very revolutionary, I know: A small step for every other HS player but a giant exciting leap for me. And I was pretty proud when I killed off the first three combo priests coming my way with my first own deck. So I was testing it around rank 10 when this rogue showed up.
This was some kind of Quest Rogue but due to my limited knowledge I didn’t even know what I was facing exactly. Since I have next to no options in the early game anyways I did what a ponderous priest deck like mine does: just wait and see. I played the quest on turn 1 (I play that too, because I have a lot of healing taunts – and because I just love buffing my minions) and then chilled, literally just pressing End turn every time till turn 6.
By then I was facing 6 semi-impressive minions (4 one-attacks and a 2-attack-Questing Explorer). Plus that new old guy Shaku who was worrying me a little bit. But I wasn’t all that nervous because my new acquaintance Sylvanas decided to visit my hand early this game so I brought her out, knowing I’d get her back when N’Zoth came around. With the help of her, good old Zilliax and Forbidden Words I survived the Rogue’s first wave of attack. Then Psychopomp brought Sylvanas back with Reborn (FUN!) to survive the next wave which included a High Priest Amet, the rogue had recruited before.
We got to turn 11 and I managed to fight his attacks off with more Deathrattle taunts but through some Stormbringer shenanigans this thief ended up with a Baron Geddon. And he just had added the other big fire dude to his side of the board: Ragnaros.
Since the Rogue was literally bringing the heat and my board by this point was completely empty I called upon my new buddy N’Zoth to support me in these fiery times. And reliable as always the old god rolled out a Khartut Defender, a Convincing Infiltrator - and three Sylvanas for me. Some trades of lower class minions followed and by the start of turn 13 my three Sylvanas still faced a half-health-Ragnaros and that Baron Geddon dude.
When I glanced at my cards I noticed this little 2 mana spell, way off to the left of my hand – and an evil thought began to grow. Seance! I grinned like a 4-year-old who is about to play a mean prank on his brother. Then I went for it. I seanced the Ragnaros of the poor Rogue, played it myself, sacrificed one of my Sylvanas to kill the Baron just to get his Rag too. The other two Sylvanas to the face plus two times of “Die! Insect!“ equals 26 point of damage and an exploding Valeera.
Gotta say, that felt dirty, wrong and evil. And sooo satisfying. But I guess that’s what it was like in the good old times when the Hearthstone life was young, wild and free and I didn’t even know about this wonderful game.

Where do you go for arena resources? I want to dig into the arena for the multiclass event but haven't done arena in forever and the first deck I built ended up being rather bad.
What class combos are good? What are bombs to watch out for and/or play around?
