Ever since seeing Azerbaijan featured in the first series of “Race Across the World”
(remember the Iconic Flame Towers)? It has been a dream of mine to explore Azerbaijan with travel Buddies. And now we are going!
Our private 7 Nights 8 Days Azerbaijan tour is a carefully designed tour package for those Travel Buddies that want to experience unique nature, unmatched culture, centuries of history with its customs and traditions and fine cuisine.
Visit the must-see places in Baku: Old City Baku, Flame Towers, National Boulevard, Heydar Aliyev Centre, Mud Volcanoes, Gobustan, Fire Temple, Burning Mountain.
Explore the beauties of Azerbaijani regions such as Shamakhi, Gabala and Guba and Khinaliq as well as one of Europe’s highest villages.
This trip really does cover so many exciting elements of Azerbaijan and I absolutely cannot wait for us to explore it together.
Day 1. Friday 26th September
Meet at the airport and board our overnight flight to Baku
Day 2. Saturday 27th September. Arrive in Baku, Baku Lights Night Tour
Upon our arrival at Baku airport in the early morning we will transfer to our hotel where we can check in upon arrival and have the rest of the morning and afternoon to relax.
Throughout the tour we will be staying in twin rooms but there is an option to have a room to yourself for the trip. If you wish to have a room to yourself for the 7 nights the supplement will be £210
This evening we cover the highlights of Baku on this after-hours evening tour, which will show the glittering lights of the city after dark. Explore a mix of old and new, getting an in-depth introduction to both the modern and traditional sides of the city. Highlights include a look at Flame Towers all lit-up and a visit to the seaside boulevard.

Day 3. Sunday 28th September. Baku Old City, Downtown Walking and Azerbaijani Cuisine Tour
Today we will enjoy 3 shorter tours.
A tour of the Old City Baku The ideal introduction to Baku, this action-packed tour takes you to the many of Azerbaijan’s most fascinating locations in Baku centrum. Explore the centuries-old historic walled centre, Shirvanshah’s Palace, Maiden Tower, marvel at a city-wide panorama from Highland Park, and get a peek at tiny manuscripts at the Miniature Books Museum.

Azerbaijani Cuisine Tour: After the walking tours we will visit a local restaurant in the downtown area where you will be able to choose 4 local dishes of Azerbaijani cuisine. Learn all about preparation, the history of the dish and ingredients inside.
This tour will satisfy the expectations of the most sophisticated gastronomists!

Day 4. Monday 29th September. Full Day tour
Discover all that Baku and its surroundings have to offer on this full-day tour. See the prehistoric petroglyphs at Gobustan National Park, with cave paintings exploring up to 20.000 years of history. learn about the mud volcanoes and their healing properties.
Visit the Zoroastrian fire temple of Ateshgah, explore the fire mountain of Yanardag, and admire the architecture of Baku's modern city centre. This tour includes a tour guide and transportation to all of the sights from our hotel.

Day 5. Tuesday 30th September. Gabala and Shamakhi Tour
This morning we check out after breakfast and visit the Shamakhi Juma Mosque (The first mosque in all Caucasus and in Azerbaijan) , The Maraza village and the Sufi Dervish Mausoleum “Diri Baba” (Optional).
We will enjoy lunch in a traditional restaurant in the forest surrounding Nohurgol Lake and enjoy a walk around the lake or a boat ride (optional)
This afternoon we visit Yeddi Gozel Waterfall “Seven Beauties Waterfall” and Tufandag for remarkable views of the Alpine scenery behind Gabala. Jump aboard the Tufandag network of four cable cars for some perfect viewing. (additional cost)
Drive to the hotel in Shaki. Drop-off to the hotel at 9pm

Day 6. Wednesday 1st October. Shaki and Lahij Tour
Today we have a full day tour including the Palace of Sheki Khans, Karavansaray and a walking tour in Sheki city centre with some time for souvenir shopping. There will be a lunch stop during the day (not included)
Drive from Shaki to Lahij
Sightseeing in Lahij includes Lahij trade street, visiting the workshops of the local handicraft masters and Visits to Lahij History Museum and the Mosque.

Day 7. Thursday 2nd October. Group tour to Guba and Khinalug
Today's tour highlights include the Five Finger "Beshbarmag Dag" area
Qachrash Forest and Qudyalchay Canyon.
Eagle Peak: if we are lucky, we can observe the clear view of flying Eagles in Northern Caucasus skies
Upon arrival at Khinalug village we will have lunch Lunch (served in the local house in Khinalug)
We have the afternoon to explore the village with a visit to the Khinalug museum and mosque and a tea break with local sweets (served in a local house in Khinalug)

Day 8. Friday 3rd October. Free Day
Breakfast in the hotel. On this day you are free to go to beaches, local markets for shopping or buying souvenirs or everywhere you want. Guiding and driving services will not be provided for this day.
Day 9. Saturday 4th October
After a free morning to spend as we wish we will take our private transfer to the airport and bid a fond farewell to the “land of fire”

Physical accessibility: This tour is suitable for Travel Buddies with medium fitness & normal mobility. It involves full days of sightseeing, often on foot, and includes some climbing of stairs, and getting on and off coaches and boats. This tour is not suitable for anyone with walking difficulties.
Visa Requirements: If you are traveling on a British passport you will need to apply for an Evisa to enter Azerbaijan. We will advise on how to do this closer to the date of travel.
