Tuition Terms
Program Dismissal: There are occasions when a child must be dismissed from the program due to ill health, disciplinary issues, or because they are not adjusting physically, psychologically or emotionally. For the good of the child and the program community, the child may have to leave the program. The Farm reserves the right to dismiss any student if, in the Farm's opinion, this action is in the best interest of the program. In this instance, no refund will be made.

Red Gate Farm Health Care Policy
The health and safety of our students is essential for successful programs at the farm. Our programs are inspected annually by the Board of Health. Many of the below policies and requirements reflect those practices as well as our own commitments to creating a safe and happy space for all our students. If you have any questions about our Health Care Policy, please email Farm Director, Ben Murray or call the Farm Office (413) 625-9503.
Student Medications
Any medications brought by students are the responsibility of the visiting group leader. The farm will provide a secure location for storing medications if requested.
Mildly Ill Students
Students who are mildly ill will be treated by the Health Supervisor. If the child is able to recover quickly, and, in the judgement of the Health Supervisor, able to return to program activities, then the child will be allowed to do so. If the child is unable to recover quickly, or the Health Supervisor or visiting group leader deems it appropriate, the child's emergency contacts will be contacted in order to consult with the Health Supervisor or visiting group leader. Emergency Care protocols are to be followed in the case of significant reactions or illness.
Pre-Approved Medications
The following is a list of medications which are authorized by the program’s Health Care Consultant (Dr. Richard Warner). The medications are considered "pre-approved" and may be applied to students as needed by the program Health Supervisor without contacting a parent or guardian.
Emergency Health Care
In the unlikely event of an emergency, Farm Staff are trained to follow Emergency Care protocols. These include calling Emergency Services (911) as quickly as possible. The child's emergency contacts will be called as quickly as possible. The Farm Director or their representative will remain with the injured or ill child until an authorized visiting group leader or parent/guardian can be present. In the event that a parent/guardian cannot be reached immediately, Farm Staff and/or the visiting group leader will continue attempts to contact them until they are reached. In the event of hospitalization, the Farm Director or their representative will remain with the injured student until a parent/guardian can be present.
