Staff & Student BYOD - Securly                                                Updated 8/12/18

Hudson City Schools provides BYOD WiFi access to students and staff.  This access is filtered and recorded.  None of this data is tracked or recorded off campus.  Using this access requires a certificate to be installed on the device, and you must be signed in to your Google account.

To connect to Staff BYOD wireless, enter your district username and password.  

To connect to Student BYOD, you need to register your device for the network first.  Click here for more information on registering for Student BYOD.


After connecting to Staff or Student BYOD wireless, follow the directions that pertain to your device to install the certificate.  After installing, you may need to restart your phone/device.


Android Devices (phones and tablets) - Please Note - You must have a screen pattern lock or password on your device to be able to do this.  

Download the certificate from here. Open with defaults.

At the Name the certificate screen give the certificate a name (whatever you like) and press the OK button.

iOS Devices (ipad/iphone)

Download the certificate here within Safari.

Click on the downloaded file and press the Install button.

You will be prompted with a warning message that says, "Installing this profile will change settings on your iPad." Press the Install Now button.

Mac (OS-X)

Download in the installer from here.

Open up the archive and run the installer.

In some instances this does not work and a manual install is required.

Windows PC

Download the installer for Chrome  here and for Firefox here.

Run the installer - you need admin rights on your device to do this.

Personal Chromebook - no action is needed - please sign in with your school account. Private accounts are not supported.
