Math Notes:

Learners will complete 2-4 Zearn Lessons a week. This may be completed online or hard copy depending on internet access. Learners without internet access will be given paper copies of their individual math lesson.

Learners will spend 10-15 minutes daily playing one of the math games listed. Games may be played individually or with a family member. Please click the links to find the directions. None of the math games require printing, but may require other supplies such as a paper, pencil, dice, or a deck of cards. You may print the Math Flash Cards if wanted, or learners may solve mentally.

Reading Notes:

  • This week, learners are expected to read 2 Books on RAZ Kids & complete the Comprehension Quiz for each text (if available). Learners are expected to be reading these books (not listening to them). The book is “Complete” after the Comprehension quiz is taken & passed. Learners are able to reread and go back into the text when working on Comprehension Quizzes.
  • Learners are ALSO expected to read a choice book at least 30 minutes daily & log their reading in April Reading Log. This will be uploaded to the learner’s teacher at the end of the month.

Standard: Analyze and interpret data from maps to describe patterns of Earth’s features.

  • If you have a science book: Please read about Earthquakes here on pages 572-574 in your science book and answer the questions on pages 573-574 *You do not have to do Question 3, it is in the Can Do section!

SOCIAL STUDIES

Standard: Demonstrate historical South Dakota events in chronological order.

You will have 6 events total by Friday, April 17th. We will continue to add slides to this on-going project each week. (Use the links below only for your research and to find your events).

With each event you must have:  

  • Picture (may be drawn, Pic Collage pictures if using this app, magazine pictures, printed off, etc.)
  • Title
  • The date of the event
  • One sentence stating a fact about the event IN YOUR OWN WORDS. (Do not copy sentences from the website)

***For your project you have the option of creating your timeline on your iPad using Pic Collage, Google Slides, Clips, etc. OR you may create your timeline on paper using pencil, crayons, markers, etc. and taking a picture to upload to your teacher.

Artist Inspiration Week

  • Choose ONE Artist to learn about in the presentation linked below and create an artwork inspired by them! Send a photo to your art teacher and tell them why you were inspired to make this!

Must Do:

  • Linked below is a monthly exercise calendar.  Please pick 2 activities to complete each week. If your learner would like to complete more than 2, that is great! This calendar was sent home in your learner’s bag on April 3.

  • Parents- Please initial the boxes on the calendar that your learner completes.  At the end of the month, take a photo of the calendar and send to your PE teacher so he/she can see all the fun activities and exercises you have been doing while at home!

  • Please complete two squares per week.  Have an adult initial the box when you are done. At the end of the school year, following your teacher’s directions, submit a picture of your completed board.
