JOB SUMMARY
The Patient Safety Movement Foundation (PSMF) is seeking an entrepreneurial Development Intern to assist with building and expanding a robust fundraising program. This individual will support efforts to secure philanthropic grants, engage corporate sponsors and build a portfolio of individual donors regionally and nationally. The intern will collaborate with the Director of Development and the PSMF Governance Board, Fundraising Committee and staff across the organization to assist with the development and fundraising activities, including film screenings, email fundraisers, mobile app fundraisers, grant writing, and executing larger events where fundraising is involved.
This is a tremendous opportunity for a goal-oriented young professional with a desire to focus on philanthropy and advance his or her career alongside PSMF’s growth.
PRIMARY RELATIONSHIPS
The position reports to the Director of Development. Within the organization, the position works alongside the Director of Development with other key staff across administration, clinical, marketing, and partnerships divisions. Outside the Foundation, the position coordinates with consultants, the Board of Directors, Fundraising Committee, key stakeholders and partners.
KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
MINIMUM & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
In addition to possessing these qualifications, the ideal candidate should be organized and collegial. She/he must be a self-starter with a bias toward execution and possess the ability to be flexible and open to new ideas, as well as the ability to function at peak in a fast-paced environment.
