Academics | Teachers will use lesson plans and curriculum mapping to help guide the instruction. Other factors: credit recovery, summer school, concurrent credit options, attendance monitoring, discipline, career coach and midterm and quarter grade checks by the counselor and principal. Students assigned to ILT, MILT, and SLT, to recover or make up work. These changes will also be the focus of classroom observations. |
Human Capital | Teachers will provide focused instruction to students and interventionists will assist with student deficits so that students can make adequate growth. The Leadership Team will meet monthly to assess data and make the changes needed for interventions. The school counselor will check grades at midterm and at the end of each quarter and inform the the principal who has a failing grade. The principal will meet with students who have a failing grade at midterm and end of each quarter to assess what other interventions may be needed. |
Student Support | Math Excel will be used to provide remediation for students who do score exceeding or ready on the ACT Aspire. ILT and MLT and the math interventionist will provide additional to support to students in need. |
Stakeholder Communication & Family Engagement | Reading, Math, Science, History, ACT Aspire test scores and assessment data will be shared with parents. Student Success Plans will be developed with parents to address areas where students scored basic or below basic. |
District Operations & Fiscal Governance | Funding will be provided for needed professional development. Substitutes may be hired so that teachers may attend training. |
Facilities & Transportation | School vehicles will be utilized to transport teachers to necessary training. |

Academics | English teachers will provide students with lessons that will increase their reading level. As students are formatively assessed, teachers will analyze data to determine student deficits and need for growth. Those areas will be addressed both with classroom instruction and small group interventions. |

Student Support | Students will be provided with small group instruction focusing on deficit areas so that they may show adequate growth on the summative assessment (NWEA-ACT Aspire). Reading Focus: vocabulary, key ideas and details (central idea and theme, summarize, sequence, compare, identify causal relationships), Craft and Structure (word choice, text structures, purpose, point of view), Integration of Knowledge and Ideas (arguments, prior knowledge, text-to-text connections. |

Academics | Math teachers will develop and use curriculum maps focused on state standards. Lesson plans will reflect the implementation of a variety of teaching strategies to include the use of manipulatives and modeling. Hands on learning will be emphasized, and IXL in 7th-8th grade and MathXL 10-12 grades will be utilized for additional support. Seventh and eighth grade teachers will implement Illustrative Mathematics. NWEA and ACT Aspire data will be used for assessment. |
