We are pleased to announce that Teachers Academy 2018 will be held on August 20 and 21, 2018. All teachers entering their first year at CREC are required to attend. In addition, teachers in their second or third year at CREC hired with less than five years of experience must attend. Teachers in their second or third year at CREC hired with five or more years of experience do not have to attend; however, all CREC teachers are welcome to register for and attend any session.

Teachers Academy will take place at the Academy of Aerospace and Engineering, 1101 Kennedy Road, Windsor, CT 06095. Breakfast and registration will begin at 7:30 AM. Sessions will begin promptly at 8:30 AM each day.  Lunch will be provided for all attendees.  Attendees must bring a laptop or other device for note taking and access to online resources. Please be aware that professional attire is expected.

Sessions are designed to inspire you to begin the new school year motivated and empowered to prepare your students for success.

All certified staff entering their first year at CREC are required to attend the full day session, “M100: CREC 101 - Preparing for a Successful First Year at CREC & TEVAL” on Monday, August 20, 2018.  Directly following this session, you are also required to attend a CREC Education Association meeting from 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM.

Most first year magnet school teachers are also required to attend content or position specific sessions on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. Please review the table below for all required session information.  If your position is not reflected in the table, this means there are no required sessions for you on Tuesday. The catalog offers a variety of sessions related to general instructional practices as well as additional content-specific offerings. Please review the Tuesday session offerings in the 2018 Teachers Academy Catalog and register using the link below.

Any teacher in a Student Services program should reach out to their supervisor for guidance in selecting Day 2 sessions.
