Meeting Minutes – March 13, 2018 8:30 p.m.

Attending: Principal Mary Wohlforth, Rachell Lawrence (parent), Sara Samuelson (parent), Lisa Woodland (parent), Sadie Cunningham (parent), Tina Williams (parent), Tana Richards (parent), Jordan Jacobson (Teacher)

Welcome

Chair Sadie Cunningham welcomed all council members to the meeting.

Approval of Minutes

Chair Sadie Cunningham asked members to review the minutes of the January 10, 2018 meeting. Rachell Lawrence made a motion for the minutes to be approved as written. Tina WIlliams seconded the motion. The vote of the council was unanimous to approve the minutes as written.

Safety Update

Principal Wohlforth informed the council of things that the school and district have done, and are in the process of evaluating to keep the students safe at Mona Elementary. Some of the items that have been completed are: bullet resistant film on window; all doors, except the front door, being locked during the day; rekeying the building so the teachers can more easily go into lockdown; and security cameras placed inside and outside the school. Some items the school is looking into are: redesigning the front office; locking additional interior doors; and rekeying the building with additional card keys for quicker access.

An update of the Safe Routes to School sidewalk project along 300 East was also given. The sidewalk should be completed at the end of March 2018.

Assessment/Scoring/Grading

The Juab district Assessment, scoring, and reporting guidelines were presented for informational and feedback purposes.

School Land Trust 2018-2019 plan proposal

The 2018-2019 School Land Trust Plan proposal was distributed. The School Land Trust Plan has two goals: Art and Music Instruction; and Increase LA, Mathematics, Science Proficiency. Sara Samuelson made a motion to approve the 2018-2019 School Land Trust plan. Lisa Woodland seconded the motion. The vote of the council was unanimous in favor of approval of the plan. The approved plan will be presented to the Juab School Board for approval. The SCC will meet again in April if necessary to review the School Boards suggestions.

Tina Williams made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Sadie Cunningham seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous to adjourn the meeting.
