Non-board guests Charlotte Blanch and Navvab Taylor introduced themselves.

Ryan Turner will talk about history, Mr. Aziz will talk about present and future. May 23rd will be targeted at city officials/businesses/allies for Joslin. Mr. Aziz is asking CAC and PTA members to try and get one person to attend, to help bolster attendance. Julie will send out the EventBrite link. Mr. Aziz also explained the shared attendance boundary with Sunset Valley. For English speakers, since 80% of instruction will be in Spanish at SV, parents may want to choose Joslin.

Proposed a change in bylaws for organizational structure: move 2 VPs to committee chairs in order to appoint chairs instead of having to elect VPs. Asked for nominations for elected positions. Election meeting has to be a general meeting; can be before a board meeting if needed. Julie motioned to change the bylaws to change the organizational structure. Jen B. seconded it. Motion passed. Jen B. suggested having a sign-up for different committees at the election general meeting.

Jen B. self-selected as VP of Fundraising. Catherine self-selected as Membership Chair. Amber Caskey is interested in either Secretary or Treasurer. Julie self-selected as President. Jenn H. is interested in being the Volunteer Coordinator. Navvab is interested in Programs Chair. Charlotte is interested in Communications Chair. Julia de Moraes self-selected as Treasurer. Jen McGaffney self-selected as Secretary. Julie B. suggested we consider a co-chair for Fundraising and ask Amber C. since she already does Box Tops. The election will be held on May 9th from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. with a regular board meeting from 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. Catherine will create the official slate of officers & chairs and update the roles document.

  1. Raffle - Review raffle packages and timeline - Jen B. and Julie B. reviewed the packages and said we are just about ready to sell tickets online. Catherine will update the raffle web page, and Julie will work with Summer to get tickets ready to the printer.

  1. Julie B. made a call for volunteers for Amy Gibbs to work on the book fair bulletin board and asked anyone interested to contact Amy. She also called for volunteers for an upcoming community event on April 21st hosted by Crockett. The Crockett Block Party will be on 4/21 from 12 to 3. The Joslin choir will perform at 12:30. Deb Ambrose and Stephanie Turner indicated they would probably be there, and could possibly help. Julie said this would be a good time to promote and sell raffle tickets. She will create a signup sheet for volunteers.
