MONDAY

Sewing Adventures

Looking for a fun activity to create awesome sewing projects? This class will teach the basics of the sewing machine (including safety!) as well as some hand sewing techniques. Students will have a blast sewing multiple projects throughout the session including stuffed animals, bags, and accessories. No experience necessary and all materials are provided! All projects are new, if you joined us last year, we will have all new projects for you this fall!

Speed & Agility Training

Boys & Girls get ready to move with purpose! This high energy program taught by

Strength & Conditioning Coaches (Kristen Brown & Marilyn Gibbs) helps

students build speed, agility and quickness through exciting drills, obstacle courses and

fun team challenges. Each session combines skill-based movement training through

fast-paced games designed to improve athletic ability and coordination. Kids will boost

their confidence, learn to move efficiently and discover how much fun getting faster can

be!

Both Marilyn & Kristen are former two-sport collegiate athletes. They continue to share

their love of sports by coaching their own young athletes, while also running successful

fitness businesses here in Hopkinton.

3D Printed Snow Globe Lights

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow … in a globe! In this class, you will create a winter wonderland inside of a snow globe. Create a wintry design using the TinkerCAD 3D app on your Chromebook. Place your printed design in the globe and choose your favorite sparkly glitters to animate your creation. Design your base and add a light to finish off your creation! All experience levels are welcome.

Gimkit Creative

Calling all future game designers, trivia champs, and curious minds! In this after-school adventure, 4th and 5th graders will pick any topic they're wild about—sharks, soccer, space travel, slime recipes—you name it! They'll dig up the coolest facts, then use Gimkit Creative to turn their knowledge into an epic, one-of-a-kind game. Students will dream up clever questions, design awesome levels, and add eye-popping visuals. We'll wrap things up with a Game Arcade Party, where everyone gets to play each other’s games and cheer each other on!

By enrolling your child in this class, you give permission for them to sign into Gimkit using their School issued Google account.

Fun Soccer

You do not need any past experience or ability to play “Fun Soccer.” It’s for all levels of player whether you're a beginner or a town/club player.  It’s about having fun through the enjoyment of a variety of soccer games and activities.  This will be the eighteenth year of the HPTO soccer program run by Hopkins School OT, Mr. Taylor!

Roblox Game Development

Turn your imagination into reality in the world of Roblox! In this exciting, hands-on course, students will learn how to design their own Roblox games and bring them to life with Lua scripting. From building awesome worlds to creating cool game mechanics, every class is packed with creativity and coding fun. Whether you dream of making obstacle courses, adventure games, or simulations, this course gives you the skills to make it happen—and share your creations with friends around the world!

NOTE: Students will be escorted on their walk from Hopkins to the HCA.

Intro to Python: Coding Games & Creativity

In this fun, beginner-friendly class, students will learn the basics of Python programming through games, challenges, and creative projects. Each week builds on the last, covering topics such as variables, conditionals, loops, and combining logic to make interactive programs. Students will create their own games like “Guess the Number,” design custom quizzes, and explore how computers “think” through hands-on activities. No prior coding experience is needed—just curiosity and creativity!

Get ready to move and groove with the Hopkins Dance Team! We’ll play movement-based games and learn a hip-hop/jazz-style dance to popular songs. Students will have a chance to show off their skills at a Hopkins Whole School Meeting and can even order a Dance Team shirt to wear for the big day (optional). No experience needed—just bring your energy and get ready to dance!

Robotics Space Wars

In Snapology's Star Wars-inspired program, partner groups will explore robotics while digging into their favorite parts of the Star Wars movies - the machines! While working to complete various challenges, your student will be taught how to effectively utilize sensors, how different mechanical components work in their robots, and how programming is a challenging but rewarding skill that they can master with just a little practice. Think X-Wing, AT-AT, Space Rover and more, all created with LEGO® Robotics Kits. These great builds will be connected by Bluetooth to their iPad Tablets for programming. May the force be with them as they build and grow!

NOTE: Students will be escorted on their walk from Hopkins to the HCA.

Chess Wizards

Chess Wizards is a premier chess education company providing fun, informative and challenging chess lessons to students. Chess Wizards teaches children many important life concepts, such as learning the ability to win graciously and accept defeat with dignity and sportsmanship.

Join Chess Wizards this year for challenging chess lessons, exciting tournaments, fun, team activities, and more! If you’re brand-new to chess, we’ll teach you the basics and get you playing right away. If you’re a seasoned checkmate artist, we’ll show you new ways to let your creativity show on the chess board.

Students will be divided into groups according to their chess experience. At the end of this session, each student would have had the chance to participate in a mini-chess tournament.

All experience levels are welcome!

The most intense and exciting program you have ever seen. The students will learn how to work together, strategize and exercise without even knowing it! There are tons of creative and competitive dodgeball games incorporated into this program – there will never be a dull moment!!! Gatorskin dodgeballs will be used which are proven to be the safest dodgeballs out there! Safety rules and regulations will be enforced before each class.

Join us for a lively and creative visual arts extracurricular class at the Hopkinton Center for the Arts! Students will experiment with color, line, and shape through a variety of drawing, painting, and collage projects. It's the perfect way to recharge, express creativity, and build confidence after school. No art experience necessary, and all materials will be provided.
