School News

School Sports:

Our after school sports program will begin this Tuesday for students in Grade Six. The pick-up time is 3:30 p.m. Students MUST have rides prearranged in order to stay.

Music Program:

Our lunch and after school music programs will begin on Monday. Mrs. Brown will be posting updates on our Facebook page.

Vegetable Hamper Fundraiser:

I would like to remind you that the deadline for the vegetable hamper fundraiser is Friday, September 27th. You can send along the money when you submit your order or pay upon arrival.

Terry Fox Walk:

Our annual Terry Fox Walk is scheduled for Friday, September 27th, weather permitting. Students from K-2 will walk in the morning (leaving school at 9:30 a.m.) and walk to the Dildo Playground. There, they will have some time to play before leaving to walk back. Kindergarten students will be bused back to the school. Our 3-6 students will walk in the afternoon (leaving at 1:10 p.m.) and also spend time on the playground before returning to the school. We would appreciate extra parent supervision for our primary group, if you are available to walk with us. Please send along a donation for the Terry Fox Cancer Foundation, if you wish.

Picture Day:

LifeTouch will be here on Monday, Sept. 30th for picture day. All students will have their individual pictures taken on this date. Group pictures will be taken on a separate date, which will be determined.


Due to unforeseen circumstances, the JAM Program at the Salvation Army Church, will not go ahead this fall.

Ronald McDonald Fundraisers:

-On Friday, Sept. 20th at 6:30 p.m.  ‘Get Messy NL’ will be hosting a parent and child painting activity at the St. Barnabas Hall, Blaketown. Admission is $40. Proceeds go toward the Ronald McDonald House. Please send emt payment to to secure your space!

-The ‘Red Shoe Crew Walk for Families’ will take place on Saturday, Sept. 21st. Registration @ 10 a.m. and Walk @ 11 a.m. from the Community 5 Lion’s Center. It will be a FUN morning in support of the families of RMH!

Harbour Breeze News:

This week the winner of the ‘Free Meals’ contest is Isla Butt in Grade 1. To be eligible, students must have ordered lunch at least once during the week. Congratulations!
