Please give some examples of high profile events held on campus last year (i.e. concerts. speakers, political debates, etc.): | Mac Miller; Various actors from shows like Parks and Rec., RuPaul’s Drag Race and Orange is the New Black. The Vice President of Panama (an alum); The Pope also visited our campus when we was in Philadelphia a few years ago! |
What percentage of students stay on campus during the weekends? | I don’t have a firm percentage right now, but at least 85-90% |
New initiatives on campus and/or institutional goals? | We are still working to improve diversity. Not only racial diversity but religious, political, cultural. We are working deeply to build a deeply diverse community. |
What is something you might find at the school that may not exist at any other school? | We are the only school in the country that offers a major and minor in Autism Behavioral Studies. This has been very exciting for students interested in the field of autism but less so on the side of education. |
If located outside of New England, what New England area schools is your institution similar to? | We have a lot of similar beliefs and practices to Boston College because of the Jesuit values. I truly don’t know any other school that would be comparable to the location. We have easy exposure to a major city, but we are located on a solidified campus in which students are able to have a “green-campus” feel but also have the city school experience. |
What is the distance to the nearest big city? And what is that city? | We are located in Philadelphia. |
What is the approximate distance from Westborough, driving and/or flying? | We are about 6-7 drive to Westborough. |
What are your most popular majors? | Marketing (Food, Entertainment, Sports, Healthcare); Risk Management and Insurance; Accounting; Finance; Education; Special Education; Communication; International Relations. |
What are your newest and/or most unique majors? | Food Marketing; Autism Behavioral Studies, Leadership, Ethics, and Organizational Studies |
What majors are you hoping to grow? | Any! |
Will applying “undecided” for a major affect a student’s chances for acceptance? | Not at all! |
Is there a statistical advantage to applying early decision or early action? | Nope! Apply when you think is best! If you want to wait for 1st semester, 12th grade transcripts do not feel pressured to apply early! |
If interviews are required or recommended, where and by whom are they conducted? | Interviews are non-evaluative. If a student is interested, it is a great way to explain certain aspects of an application, or just to ask questions in general. |
Are students automatically considered for merit scholarships with the application to the school? | Yes |
What percentage of demonstrated financial aid do you meet? | It changes, I do not currently have the percentage for this year, but 86% of our students are on some sort of merit scholarship or aid. |
Is there anything else a student should know that they will not easily find in a guidebook or online? | The General Ed. Program is available online if students would like to see what the liberal arts curriculum looks like. |
