Player Rating (PR)

Player Rating is the system THL uses to approximate the skill level of a player, which allows players of all skill levels to be matched with equal opponents. Player rating ranges from a minimum of 50 to a maximum of 550. Only ranks achieved on Hearthstone standard ladder are used for Player Rating calculation. Click HERE for THL’s official PR calculator.

PR For New Players:

        PR = 450 - ((100+(10*(11- multiplier ))) * (11 - multiplier ))

The formula for Wild PR, based on average star multiplier from the player’s 3 highest finishes in wild, can be found below:

PR = 450 - ((100+(10*(12 - multiplier ))) * (12 - multiplier ))

Tiebreakers

In the event of a tied point total between two teams, the following tiebreakers are used to decide the higher placed playoff team, in order of precedence:

  1. Team who won their regular season match.
  2. Number of individual matches won when the two teams played in the Regular Season.
  3. Total number of weeks won throughout the Regular Season.
  4. Total number of matches won by players throughout the Regular Season. This includes matches won by substitutes or replacement players.
  5. Total number of games won by players throughout the Regular Season.
  6. Total number of games lost by players throughout the Regular Season.
  7. The captains of the two tied teams will select one representative from their team for a play-in match to be played on Monday. The play-in match will follow the same format of the series the two tied teams are a part of.

In the event that three or more teams are tied, the following tiebreakers are used to decide the higher placed team, in order of precedence:

  1. Total number of weeks won throughout the Regular Season.
  2. Total number of individual matches won by players throughout the Regular Season.  This includes matches won by substitutes or replaced players.
  3. Total number of games won by players throughout the Regular Season.
  4. Total number of games lost by players throughout the Regular Season.
  5. A tiebreaker to be determined by the board.

If after applying a tiebreaker only two teams remain, start over at Rule 1 in the 2-team tiebreaker decision process.
