12 Honors English At a Glance
Jump-start your skills for college? Use your critical thinking and application talents to analyze great works that deal with the issue of human dignity. Included are the following works: British Literature selections, Hamlet, A Tale of Two Cities, Snow Falling on Cedars, The Iliad, Tuesdays With Morrie, and 1984. In addition, the class will study various poems and plays. Learn to write critical reviews of these works and analyze the author’s intent and style. Assigned essay formats will include persuasive, critical thinking, informative, reaction essays, and others. The use of correct essay forms will be emphasized as well as MLA and APA documentation. Honors English 12 is designed to prepare students for college. It is distinguished from English 12 by its enhanced reading and writing schedule and expectations.
1st Quarter
