Online Business License Renewal Users Guide
The City of Wichita online business renewal system provides business owners a convenient way to renew business license electronically. The system is accessible from the City of Wichita main website at http://www.wichita.gov. Please select either the Business License Icon or click on the Business menu tab and select the Online Business License Renewal Link to log in.
Businesses will be prompted to enter the account number and security code to access the Online Business Renewal system. Both of these items can be found on the renewal notice that was sent to your business. You can also retrieve the security code by contacting the City of Wichita at 316-268-4553 or click the “Click Here if you lost your security code” link from the login screen to recover your security code.
Once logged in you will be provided with an overview of your account information. From this screen you can select to: Make a payment and renew your business license, modify your account information, close a business, or print the business license.
When you select to make payment you will have to check the two radio buttons confirming that the information displayed is correct then click “continue”. On the next screen click “Calculate”. All fees (BL Tax, Penalties, and Convenience Fees) will be calculated and displayed for your review. Verify the information then “Check Out”. On the next screen enter your billing information then click “Complete Payment”.
Next you will be presented with the receipt screen that can be printed for record keeping. You can check back online to print the new license within 1-2 business days from the payment date.
Select “Modify” to update your business information. Changes made to the Business Name, Business Address, and Contact Name requires verification from city staff. If one of the above mentioned changes is made you will be logged out of the system and won’t be able to continue renewing until the modification has been verified and approved by city staff. This additional verification step is in place to prevent a license from being issued with incorrect information. All other changes will take effect immediately to the account.
Businesses that request to close online will be asked to provide their closing date. Once the date has been entered click “Close” and the request will be forwarded to city staff for final determination.
To print your business license select “Print License” then click “Continue” to access the print document page. Double click on the license to print. If you have a receipt pending with the city you will not be able to print the license until the receipt has been processed.
