Dear Parents,

Standardized Testing Week - April 16 - 19

This week students will be taking the Stanford Achievement Tests. We ask that you do not plan any doctor or dental appointments for this week. In addition, it is important that students get adequate rest and eat a nutritious breakfast each morning. If you would like to send in healthy snacks for the middle school students to have during testing week, that would be fantastic.

There is no chapel on Wednesday - students may wear regular uniform clothing instead of chapel wear.

Field Day - Friday, April 20

Field Day is back! On Friday, April 20, the school will come together out on the front field to have some fun in the sun! A flier was sent home last Friday with the details including teams, attire, and things the students need to bring in that day. Set up begins at 8:00 A.M., and Mr. Ortiz is looking for some willing parents to help him get the supplies out on the field and set up for the events. Please consider being a part of this exciting event. If you are able and willing to serve in this way, please contact Mr. Ortiz directly at

Fall Family Skate Night - Monday, April 23

Invite your family and friends to Rollerland in Roseville. We hope to see you there at 6:30 P.M. - great exercise and a great time!

8th Grade Graduation Information

****Believe it or not, it’s time to begin preparations for the 8th Grade Graduation. You may want to take some time over the next few weeks to look through photos of your child. Dr. Muntean would like at least 10 pictures of your child, which will be used for the Graduate’s Video - they can be from baby years through current age. These pictures must be digital copies; he will not accept hard copies. You may email them to or send a CD. Students will soon take a questionnaire home to fill out - this is for the video as well. Please have these items in by April 27. I will touch bases soon in regards to planning  the Graduation Dinner. Exciting times ahead!

Middle School Teachers

Bible (Mr. Ortiz):

Due to SAT testing there will be no class until Thursday. As a result there will be no tests, scripture, or Jupiter discussion this week.

English  (Mrs. Johnson):

Students will not have a spelling list due to SAT testing. Students will be working on their research reports this week. Each student chose a historical figure for this report. Students are required to have at least one book source along with their online sources, so you may need to visit the public library - this book must be shown to me by the end of the week. The research report is due May 8.

Math (Mr. Burris):

Students will complete lessons 83-84 this week.

**Students should bring a scientific calculator to class everyday.

Social Studies (Mrs. Daniel):

This week students will continue to learn about WWI.  Due to the testing schedule and field day, there will be no tests.  However, students should use their extra computer time or study hall time to research the historical individual they are writing about for the 4th quarter research report.  *Please note, in addition to the research report, students will also give a short presentation in class.  Details will be given at a later date.

Science (Mrs.Northman):

Most of the week will be spent taking SAT tests.  On Thursday and Friday, students will learn about the Excretory system and begin the chapter review.

Music: (Dr. Muntean)

Preparing students to perform with praise band on Wednesday chapel.
