tinyurl.com/TeleHealthDonate. The device should preferably have iOS 12; if not, video chat capabilities of FaceTime, Zoom, Skype, or Google Chrome should be available on the device. It must have a camera.
Here are the steps you should take to clean your device:
- Update your device to the latest software, if possible.
For Apple Products:

For Samsung Products:
- Once you have updated your device, please make sure it is fully charged.
- Next, please wipe and factory reset your device. This ensures that all of your private data is removed from the device.
APPLE Devices:
To reset your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > General > Reset and then select Erase All Content and Settings.
Type in your device passcode if you have set one. You will receive a warning box, with the option to erase the device in red. Tap this. You’ll need to enter your Apple ID password to confirm, and it will go back to the initial setup screen.
SAMSUNG Devices:
Touch the Menu Key.
Touch Settings.
Touch Privacy.
Touch Factory Data Reset.
Touch Reset Device.
Enter password if needed.
Touch Erase Everything.
- Finally, we ask that you decontaminate your device to ensure we are not spreading any kind of bacteria or virus to patients. Please use either Clorox wipes or a 70% isopropyl alcohol solution with a microfiber cloth to clean your device (when it is off). Wipe down the device front and back. Make sure to go over the edges of the iPhone and all edges of crevices.
CDC Protocol:
- For electronics such as cell phones, tablets, touch screens, remote controls, and keyboards, remove visible contamination if present.
- Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for all cleaning and disinfection products.
- If no manufacturer guidance is available, consider the use of alcohol-based wipes or sprays containing at least 70% alcohol to disinfect touch screens. Dry surfaces thoroughly to avoid pooling of liquids.
- Please place your device in a clear plastic bag, if you can, before dropping it off. Please mark the back with “TeleHealth Donation” before giving it to either an agreed provider or volunteer.
