Gateway Regional High School
HS Reading/Grades 9-12
In Reading class, my goal is to focus on reading strategies and help our students become better readers. The students and I will work on ways to increase motivation, enhance vocabulary, and improve comprehension using technology, and a variety of texts.
Course Expectations and Assessments
W- When I need help, I will be a self-advocate.
I- I will be respectful of others. This includes students and staff. We may have our differences, but one \
thing is the same--we are all Gators.
S- Set your expectations high (and know in advance that I have high expectations set for you). Do not accept
what you can do as your best. Challenge yourself to do better than you think you can.
E- Every day is a new day, a new chance. Imagine saying “I did it!” Make it happen. Don’t give up. You are
your own motivation. You are so much smarter than you think you are. Smile because you’ve got this!
