NOTE: Due to some changes in SL this item is no longer available and the manual is no longer updated. However, the manual remains on the website for those who have it and still use it.
Version: 2.0
The VM Designs Barrel Processor is a fast way to turn your “no transfer” water barrels into “transfer” by automatically taking them from your inventory, rezing them, and then sending them to you, your Modular Sorter, or your Drop ‘N Go.
NOTE: Currently, this item has only been tested with the Firestorm viewer. If you do not have Firestorm, this item may not work for you.
NOTE: As stated above, this item has only been tested with the Firestorm viewer. We can’t provide support for other viewers at this time.
Step 1 - Create a top-level folder in your inventory for your transfer barrels. Top-level means it can’t be inside any other folders. Name this folder with no spaces used in the name. If you wish, you can use a few exclamation points ( !!! ) in the folder name to have the folder listed at the top if you sort folders alphabetically but this is not necessary. For the purposes of this manual, we’re going to use the name !!!BarrelTrans.
Step 2 - Create another top-level folder for your non-transfer barrels and name it. For the purpose of this manual, we’re going to use !!!BarrelNoTrans.
Step 3 - Rez out the Barrel Processor. You can obtain one for free from the vendor at the main VMD store (SLURL is below).
Step 4 - Next, you need to copy the name of your Trans folder (the folder that will contain the barrels you wish to convert to transfer) so you can paste it into your Barrel Processor menu. An easy way to copy a folder name is to Right-Clilck it and select Rename and then copy like normal (but do not actually change the name). Once it’s copied, click the Barrel Processor and select Folder and paste the name into the field land Submit.
Step 5 (optional) - If you plan to have the Barrel Processor send the transfer barrels to your sorter or to your Drop ‘N Go, you’ll need to copy and paste the appropriate UUID. Click on the destination device (Modular Sorter or Drop ‘N Go) and select UUID. That device will put the UUID in local chat. Copy it from local chat and then click the Barrel Processor and select Sorter and paste in the UUID and click Submit.
This completes the initial setup. You’re ready to start using your Barrel Processor!!
Step 1 - As you pull no-transfer barrels from the DFS Water Well you can place them in the NoTrans folder (!!!BarelNoTrans if you used the same name as we did above). This keeps them in a nice location in your inventory, separate from other items and separate from barrels you convert to transfer.
Step 2 - When you’re ready to convert no-transfer barrels to transfer ones, move the desired quantity of barrels (no more than 25 at a time!) into the Trans folder (!!!BarelTrans if you used the same name as us above). This is the folder you copied the name of during the Setup process.
Step 3 - Click the Barrel Processor and select Load. The Barrel Processor will put a line of text in local chat something like, “[14:07] [VMD] Barrel Processor v2.0: zdrop on 95c2c7ab-e017-8ab0-8bcf-4a3e8500ffb4 !!!BarrelTrans.“ Copy the part from “zdrop” all the way to the end (the underlined portion shown here) and paste it back into local chat. This will cause the Barrel Processor to pull the barrels from your folder.
Step 4 - Once all the barrels are loaded into the Barrel Processor, click the Barrel Processor and select Process to process your barrels. In local chat, you’ll see a ktake and the folder name and all the UUIDs for your barrels. You need to highlight this entire section from the “ktake” part to the end of the last UUID and copy it. To make it easier to see, we’ve included dashed lines at the start and end. In our example, we used 10 barrels so our highlight and copy looks like this in the image below:
Once you paste that into local chat, all of your rezed barrels (now transferable) will be sent back to your Trans folder (!!!BarrelTrans) in your inventory.
Step 5 - You need to move the barrels out of your Trans (!!!BarrelTrans) folder so it will be empty to process more barrels. You can manually move them anywhere you wish. However, if you setup the Barrel Processor to use your Drop ‘N Go according to Step 5 in the Setup section above, then click your Barrel Processor and select Deposit. This displays a “zdrop” line in local chat. Copy this line and paste it back into local chat. This pulls the barrels from your inventory and deposits them to the destination you selected during Setup (Modular Sorter or Drop ‘N Go). Then you can click Sort on your Modular Sorter or your Drop ‘N Go like normal.
That completes the Setup and Use for the Barrel Processor.
