SSP’s mission is to inspire exceptionally talented and motivated high school students to accelerate their intellectual and social development. Our college-level, residential program immerses students in a challenging science curriculum with team‐based, hands‐on research to solve a central scientific problem. For over six decades, SSP’s immersion into hands-on experimental science has challenged and inspired talented teenagers from around the world. Working in teams of three, participants complete a research project, with each team acquiring original data and analyzing it. The intense 39-day schedule adds field trips, guest speakers, and much more. The experience changes their lives, paying dividends in college and beyond. SSP is the only pre-college enrichment program operated, governed, and largely funded by its own alumni and former faculty – eloquent testimony to its impact.
