Class Goals:

To engage with a variety of texts over the course of the semester that exhibit elements of American history and culture, and to shape their own cultural identity through texts and assignments.

Class Schedule:

 

Monday:

  • No School - Teacher Workday

Tuesday:

  • Romantic Writing Activity - due by midnight
  • “The Devil and Tom Walker” - read and discuss

Wednesday:

  • “The Devil and Tom Walker” Reading Quiz

Thursday:

  • Vocab Review Game
  • Dark Romantics and Poe Slideshow

Friday:

  • Vocab Quiz
  • Poe webquest - due Monday

  • To begin learning about the concept of symbolism and how other elements of figurative language are evident in texts
