Taught full course load (5/5) of Art Appreciation, Art History 1, and Art History 2, both in traditional and online formats.  Developed departmental CORE assignments to better allow gathering of and alignment with college-wide assessment.  Served as lead faculty on art lecture courses, entailing interviewing, hiring, supervising, and training contingent faculty, and developing and coordinating semester teaching schedules. Served as faculty liaison for new student organization, Art History Alliance.

El Centro College, Dallas, TX — Faculty (Full-Time), Art History and Art Appreciation

2015-2017

Taught full course load (5/5) of Art Appreciation, Art History 1, and Art History 2, both in traditional and online formats. Served as faculty liaison for student organization, Visual Arts Club. Worked with colleagues on CORE objectives and assignments.  Developed Open Education Resources (OER) versions of Art History 1 and Art History 2.

Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas, TX Manager of Docent and Teacher Programs

2014-2015

Managed and supervised a docent corp of eighty active (125 total) volunteer gallery educators, including developing a weekly training schedule and guides for docents on various tours and teaching K-12 age students and visitors.  Maintained a separate budget line for all docent and teacher programming.  Wrote blog posts for the DMA’s Educator’s blog, and maintained the “Teacher” section of the museum website.

Taught and developed online courses, hybrid courses, and traditional in-person courses for the following institutions: University of North Texas, Eastfield College, Brookhaven College, Tarrant County College (Northwest Campus).  Developed, researched, designed, and taught a wide range of courses ranging from introductory Art Appreciation and Art History Surveys to advanced classes on Postmodernism, Art History Methodologies, and specialized upper-level courses on Surrealism and the history of comics.

Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas, TX — Manager of Public Programs

2004-2008

Developed and coordinated adult programming, including lectures related to special exhibitions and the permanent collection. I also coordinated, managed, and promoted the ICONS lecture series, the Boshell Family Lecture Series on Archaeology, weekly Gallery Talks, performances, literary readings, sketching classes, two book clubs, and assisted with developing and leading programming during the monthly Late Night events.

Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas, TX — Education Coordinator

2003-2004

Developed a foundational group tour program and scheduling system for organizing and maintaining docent-guided and self-guided tours. Served as docent liaison for establishing schedules and tour guidelines. Trained docents on new exhibitions and the permanent collections.  Conducted and coordinated school and public programming, and provided tours for a wide range of groups and ages.

Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas, TX — Conservation & Education Internship

2003

Assisted the Conservator in preparing, maintaining, and conserving sculptures for the inaugural exhibition at the Nasher Sculpture Center.  Aided the Conservator in maintaining photographic records and object reports. Conducted a research project for the Curator of Public and Scholarly Programs on methods art institutions employ to engage blind audiences.
