Thirty Second-

Camp Cherith is an inter-denominational Christian camp in northern Minnesota, affiliated with Pioneer Clubs.

We are committed to teaching kids how to make Christ real in every phase of their lives.

We believe strongly in running separate camps for girls and boys.  This environment makes kids willing to take more risks.

Not many camps offer the convenience of being able to send same gender siblings to camp together.  The multiage dynamic brings forth leadership and mentorship qualities.

We are a small camp and hold about 100 max, because of this, kids really get a chance to learn skills, not just try something once.

Three Minute

Camp  Cherith is an inter-denominational Christian camp in northern Minnesota, affiliated with Pioneer Clubs.  We are about 3 ½ hours north of the Twin Cities.

We are committed to teaching kids how to make Christ real in every phase of their lives. Kids experience this in action through daily Bible exploration,  camp fire messages, and cabin devotions. We even have a camp-wide quiet time with God each day.

We believe strongly in running separate camps for girls and boys.  This environment makes kids willing to take more risks.  In the absence of the opposite gender kids are able to build deep and meaningful friendships…and focus on their relationship with Christ.

Not many camps offer the convenience of being able to send same gender siblings to camp together.  The multiage dynamic brings forth leadership and mentorship qualities.  Cherith provides a very family-like atmosphere.  Having different age groups on site gives the younger kids someone to look up to and the younger kids bring out the best in the older kids.  As one person put it, “One day at camp I realized my little sister and I were friends.”  Now that’s priceless.

We are a small camp and hold about 100 max, because of this, kids really get a chance to learn skills, not just try something once.  One of our board members, a long time Cherith alum always says, “Everything I know how to do I learned at Camp Cherith. From barrel racing, to driving a tractor, to waterskiing.”    Camper’s individual progress is even kept track of from summer to summer.  We offer things like:

 Air Riflery

Archery

Canoeing

Crafts

Crazy Science

Drama

Fishing

Guitar

Horsemanship

Kayaking

Outdoor Cooking

Outdoor Skills

Sailing

Snorkeling

Sports and Games

Swimming

Water Skiing

We have great work and leadership opportunities too.

Campers in Leadership Training (CILT) and Boys Under Intense Leadership Training (BUILT) are programs for girls and boys who’ve completed tenth grade and want to develop leadership skills with an emphasis on spiritual growth.

On-site work opportunities are available to campers who’ve completed at least sixth grade.

Campers during boys weeks can gain experience as kitchen aides, corral aides, and maintenance aides. Participants receive a reduced camp fee.

 Sweat and Serve

Sweat & Serve is a work camper program for girls who have completed 6th grade or higher Campers learn that work can be fun and rewarding.   Sweat & Serve includes quality leadership training, participation in one skill-based activity, daily cabin times, Bible studies, lessons in servanthood, as well as participation in cabin cookout and all-camp game. Sweat and Serve campers will learn new skills through setting tables, washing dishes, cleaning bathrooms and  showers, as well as other basic maintenance projects. Accompanied by a counselor, these girls will learn to have a servant’s heart and build strong leadership skills.

Did you know people are actually talking about Nature Deficit Disorder?  Yes, it’s true, kids these days are spending an average of 40 hours a week in front of a screen.  At Camp Cherith they leave that all behind. Camp Cherith resides on 280 stunning acres of lakes, woods, and rolling hills. Our activities promote interaction with nature, so Cherith campers spend a lot of time outdoors surrounded by the splendor of God’s creation. Our waterfront provides a clean, safe environment for water activities.  The horsemanship program makes use of miles of wooded trails.

Our facilities also include rustic cabins (with electricity), a dining and recreation hall, corral, swimming area, boat docks, archery and air riflery ranges, basketball court, craft house, costume shop, the Tuck Shop(canteen), and lots of open space for games and activities.

We have a lot of things that make us unique but one of the greatest is that parents can come and be a part of the ministry while your child is attending camp.  We value the involvement of parents in addition to our full time summer staff.  It really is the body of Christ in action.
