Ode to Steak

Juicy, chewy, pink, red

Absolute perfection

You are all the food I need

Angels sing praise to you,

and you are God’s food of choice,

while all places that make your seasoned perfection

should be called equivalent to God

Compared to you, the other meats of the world are pale imitations

All striving to be you, all falling galaxies short

Turkey, void of your flavor,

Chicken, such a crude cut

Pastrami and ham annihilated

before the golden rays you bring

You are all the food I require

And when I bite into you, oh the

relish The juice trickling down my

throat, clearing the path for the

explosion of taste and wonderment

that follows

If I could have one wish, the

First words to leap to my tongue

Would be the expression of an

infinite supply of steak

Steak is the purifier of the world,

And is the only meat fit for

anyone to taste. I weep for those who

have not yet tasted its miraculous cut.

Its meat is worth more than diamonds or jewels

to me, for steak is the only true,

pure meat, and the only food for

me
