General Programme Aims

Programmes in Sociological Studies seek to meet the following aims contained within the Departmental Mission Statement and Employability Strategy:

• To educate and train students from a diverse range of educational and social backgrounds.
• To enable students to realise their potential in order that they may gain employment and make a full contribution to the society in which they live and earn.
• To foster in students a commitment to self-improvement and the development of life skills.
• To inculcate a respect for the traditions of higher education and a commitment to the values of truth, tolerance and justice.
